Bill Warren Training Centre The BWTC is located at the Canmore Nordic Centre, the host site of Cross Country Skiing & Biathlon

The BWTC was established in 1994, named after Bill Warren who played a major role in bringing the Olympics to Calgary in 1988. The BWTC is home to Canada's National cross country ski team as well as Canada's Biathlon National team. We also house the World cup Academy, Canmore Nordic Ski Club, Biathlon Alberta and few others. We also manage the Haig Glacier Operation and the Spray Village Athlete Housing. Stay tuned to this page for new photos and updates of the BWTC and Haig Glacier.

Your favourite time of year has finally arrived! Starting June 6, and every Thursday after the BWTC will be hosting our weekly pub nights. I can’t think of a better way to enjoy drinks and food with your friends right off the camera Nordic centre trails. Come visit us after you finish your round of golf and brag to your friends how you made par!!

The @fiscrosscountry is back in Canmore!! Come up to the @canmore.nordiccentre to cheer on the athletes and check out some cool vendors. Races are Friday, Saturday, Sunday, & Tuesday.

ATT: Members The BWTC fitness facility is now equipped with BARBELL DROP PADS You will see in the video above that these drop pads feature a high density foam to absorb and diffuse noise and vibration associated with heavy barbell drops. They also help protect the floor from damage. As a courtesy to other members using the fitness facility and events that are hosted in our HAIG room above, we asked that everyone using our Olympic weightlifting area to please drop your weights and barbells onto these pads to help us reduce the noise and damage to our floors. You are welcome to reposition the pads accordingly to what suits the exercise you were performing at that time. Please see one of the BWTC staff members if you have any questions. Thank you for your cooperation πŸ™‚

All good things must come to an end…. We are sad to announce that our Summer Pub Night sessions have come to an end. As the cold weather approaches we all need to start getting ready for cross country ski season. We want to thank everyone who came out to support pub night once again this year. With the addition of our new deck it was definitely a successful pub night season. We are hoping to host a Nordic pub night this winter but are still tossing it up in the air. Please DM us if you would like us to host one this winter.
