SUPERVISOR
We are looking for a responsible Supervisor to oversee the workflow at our store. This individual will supervise others, as well as responsible for coaching, resolving issues, and serving as a link between subordinates and upper management. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual who will be able to guide and train employees and will also be results-driven and focused.
Supervisors will open and close the store, go to the bank for change, cash, and make deposits. They will also ensure that the Point of Sale System (if applicable) is programmed with the latest prices and promotions. In addition, supervisors assign tasks to employees, assist cashiers with complex transactions, help customers and supervise cleaning sessions, among other duties.
The goal is to ensure that operations are carried out productively so as to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Help manage retail staff, which includes organizing workflow and ensuring employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
• Help, drive, motivate, and encourage retail sales staff to achieve sales targets
• Make sure pricing is correct and ensure promotions are accurate
• Ensure products are clean and ready to be displayed
• Maintain store’s cleanliness
• Make sure that health and safety measures are met
• Work on store displays, which includes merchandising
• Recruit, coach, and train employees
• Identify market trends that appeal to customers
• Maintain inventory and ensure items are in stock, which includes placing stock orders
• Utilize computers to record sales figures
• Close out registers and balance
• Provide customer-focused service; welcome customers to the store and assist them with requests including complaints, issues and questions
• Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
• Excellent written, oral, and verbal communication skills
• Proven experience as a supervisor or relevant role
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
• Must have some PC skills, including the ability to use electronic equipment (e.g. cash register, scanners, and other electronics)
• Must be able to use social media for posting new products, as assigned by the manager, and interact professionally with customers.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift heavy items, and work with other team members in a fast-paced environment to provide excellent service
• Must be customer satisfaction oriented
• Must be detail oriented
• Sales skills
• Must be able to work for at least 6-8 hours a day
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
