It has been a long 154 years in the making! Check out our "after" picture. No better day than today to announce we finally have air conditioning at the Duart Hall. Now when you have family gatherings in the summer you won't melt! We would like to thank Chatham Kent Community Foundation for their generous grant of $8900 for the installation and upgrades needed to complete this project. These types of things wouldn't be possible in our small community without our sponsors. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this much needed upgrade.

Thank you for another successful Strawberry Social! We had our younger helpers volunteering this year and they did a wonderful job. Carrie's homemade poundcake always has rave reviews. Thank you to all of our volunteers at the hall for donating your time and energy as well as the Scott's for donating some of our berries for the social. Flowers donated from Nicole's gardens for some extra spring vibes. Hope to see you all again next year!

It is that time of year again! We have set the date for our second annual Strawberry Social. It was a smashing success last year and we hope to have an even bigger turn out this year. We ❤️ that our hall is being used by all members in our community. The majority of our rentals right now are from our younger crowd. We couldn't be more pleased. This baby shower group hosted an almost full house! Congrats to the parents to be 😀 !!!

Thankful Thursday! Our annual roast beef dinner was a huge success. We are beyond blessed by our community members that come together to support our hall. We managed to serve over 200 people in 1.5 hours!!! Thankful to all of our volunteers that helped us for this event as well as for our generous corporate donors who have given financially. They have allowed us to finish some of our large renovation projects this past year. If you have any photos of this event, we would love to see them!

All of our hard worker bees preparing for tomorrow night! We couldn't do it without all of our volunteers. Many hands made light work. 100 lbs of potatoes peeled and ready to go. Can hardly wait for tomorrow, especially the dessert table!

The Highgate Lions Club has generously donated an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the Duart Community Hall. This essential piece of equipment will enhance the safety and well-being of all individuals utilizing the facilities.

An AED is a portable device that can be used to deliver an electric shock to the heart in cases of sudden cardiac arrest. Time is of the essence during such emergencies, and having an AED readily available can significantly increase the chances of survival.

"We are happy to be able to provide the Duart Community Hall with this life-saving device," said Will Anderson, President of the Highgate Lions Club. "Our club is committed to supporting the health and safety of our community members, and we believe that having an AED on-site at the Duart Community Hall will make a meaningful difference in emergency situations."

The donation of the AED is part of the Highgate Lions Club's ongoing efforts to support local organizations and improve the overall well-being of the community. The Duart Community Hall serves as a hub for various events and activities, and the addition of an AED will ensure that it remains a safe and inclusive space for all.

"We are incredibly grateful to the Highgate Lions Club for their generous donation," said Mary Jayne Gosnell, President of the Duart Community Hall Committee. "Having an AED on-site provides peace of mind to our volunteers, and visitors, knowing that we are prepared to respond effectively to cardiac emergencies."
