Yesterday at Braestone Farm, our community and friends gathered for a special day to celebrate the essence of small-town living in Canada - where values, neighbours, and meaningful connections truly matter.

Together with Georgian Communities, we proudly announced that the Braestone Endless Summer and the Braestone Winter Classic pond hockey tournament are committed to raising one million dollars for the Hudson Regional Cancer Centre. This ambitious goal wouldn't be possible without our sponsors' generous support and our extended community's unwavering dedication.

A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time and effort before, during, and after the event, your contributions are invaluable.

The hum of the bumble bees in the blueberry patch!

Braestone Farm is preparing for planting season!

Check out our new hardie board on the event barn!

To feed the bees I take the top cover off the hive, then I turn the feeder pail upside down and let all the air out, and place it on-top of the hole in the hive. This way the bees can go up to the top of the hive and collect the food.

Fun fact about bees! In the spring once things have started to warm up and bees are starting become active they need food to start producing honey. To help get them going we make bee food, which is white sugar and water. They will get this mixture until they are able to forage for food.

We had a great night extracting honey! We now have 92 pounds of honey available from our own Braestone bees!

Egg Update: the ladies are being unpredictable right now. We are slowly understanding the laying average daily. To make sure we have enough eggs to go around we will be doing egg pick up, every Monday and Friday at 8am. Sorry for the change we are learning as we go. The eggs will be $5.00 a dozen.
