I find my winter garden becomes magical. After the snow melts.
There is movement , it is alive, even when it is only reminiscent of its summer glory.
Even more than during the holidays I feel the want to incorporate about-to-bloom branches and mossy bits which bring the scent and feel of the west coast into my floral art elements of coastal forest with its winter fauna. Fresh, mossy ,clear glass (water element) , brown song birds scratching, and full of natural woodsy tints, tones and shades.

Especially when it comes to Christmas, I like to have a coordination between tree and table. I lean toward Classic Red and greens as style goes.

Every year something, pulls me toward a style direction.
This year it is this ribbon of red green gold tartan.
Tartan and pine and red berries have traditional feelings.

Looks great in Naturals.
Wood and leather or a brick or stone hearth.
My favourite is the bit of grey from Eucalyptus and Dusty Miller contrasts like a stormy winter sky.
