This one feels special. Despite being the wordiest song on the whole album, it came to me fully formed in a quick flash of inspiration during a kids songwriting camp I co-hosted in 2021. It was written in probably 10 minutes, before I could even begin to think what the words actually meant. That's the strange thing about writing songs: sometimes you sit and toil over them for hours and hours, and other times they just appear out of thin air, a little gift from your subconscious.

The fiddle playing is my lovely fiancee Jessica Pereversoff. The harmonies are my friend Bridget Swift. Everything else is me. Louis McDonald mastered the track (and all the other tracks on the upcoming record). Released by Milltown Records.

Unfortunately, we have to cancel Jing Xia's performance at Blow Me Down Trails today due to the stormy weather. We are disappointed, but the weather can't be controlled. Hopefully we'll have better luck next month!

We found this video from a workshop Jing Xia gave at 62 Broadway back in 2023. She delighed audiences with her interpretation of a storm on the guzheng. We thought it appropriate given the current forecast for tomorrow!

On the up side, lots of snow will make for great skiing this weekend! Get out, get active skiing or snowshoeing on the trails at Blow Me Down and then join us for a free musical concert at the Blow Me Down Trails lodge starting at 2pm. 💨❄️🎶

It's always interesting to learn about how a band starts, the process behind an album, the inspiration, and the stories. There are pros and cons to having lots of snow. One of the big pros for us this week is that Ski & Song can go ahead Me Down Trails on Saturday, February 15 at 2pm. It's going to be the perfect day of skiing or snowshoeing, delicious lunch at the lodge and music by the amazing Jing Xia. That's right! Jing Xia is in Corner Brook this week and is excited to add a beautiful soundtrack to this stunning winter landscape.

The concert is free to attend in the lodge. Come on out and embrace winter! It also makes for a lovely date with your Valentine.🩷❄️
