In celebration of Nigel's birthday we had cake and asked Chat GPT to create an ode to our leader. We don't think any poets out there need to worry, but it was lots of fun. Leaving the cheese of Chat GPT behind, we truly do appreciate all that Nigel does to build a creative, supportive community that celebrates music and the arts. Happy Hanukkah, Joyful Kwanzaa, Merry Christmas, Happy Winter Solstice and cheery greetings for a delightful season of celebrations that are important to you. May you find moments of peace and time for a big guffaw.

We've had a great year here at 62 Broadway. We'll be back in 2025 with the events you love: Freeze Brain, Wash Brain, Tree Party, and Music & Wellnes Week. Our popular Songwriting, Recording and Performance Camps will return in July and August. And, of course, we'll have workshops. Rockin 4 Dollar$, all ages shows and more throughout the year.

We'll be taking a little break over the holiday from December 23 to January 2. We look forward to seeing you in 2025! 🎉

Sparse in construction, timeless in imagery, arcane in meaning, mythological in characters and narrative, The Sign of Jonas is an apocalypse folk tale — a story of personal and cultural collapse, and regeneration. It is a song cycle lost and found: a musical manuscript orphaned by the cataclysms of the 21st century, and re-wakened to ritual life far in the future. The fragments of text speak of journeys, of death and rebirth, of decay and regrowth; the music is a ceremonialized cycle of part songs, responsorials, folk rounds, and incantations. Together, they are a folk-music-pageant-mystery-play performed by traveling musicians and their instruments: fiddle, dulcimer, banjo, guitar, percussion, contrabass, piano, and voices.

One week until your can Sing In the Holidays with the gang at 62 Broadway. What are your favourite songs of the season? Let us know and we'll try our best to include them in the 62 Broadway community singalong 2024 song book. Everyone is welcome. No singing experience necessary. Just bring your cheerful self and any friends, neighbours and family. This is a time of year that can be lonely for people who are new to Corner Brook. Make space for kindness and new friendships. We know it's Friday and we want you to have a fabulous weekend! It's also nice to have something to look forward to for next week...Indoor Lunch with 62 Broadway!

It's getting cooler so this is the perfect time for Indoor Lunch! Remember those days when the temperatures dropped, the snowsuits stayed hung outside the classroom, and everyone stayed inside for recess? Grab your lunch, settle in, we're having indoor lunch with some fabulous people. This new series is a free, virtual event for your lunchtime enjoyment. This is an opportunity to get to know people from the community, learn about the history of local cultural traditions and have a giggle or two to break up the day. We are so excited to launch this series with Corner Brook's CBC morning host, Bernice Hillier. We'll chat with Bernice over lunch about her favourite music, career in media and fondest inside recess memories.


The weekend is going to be great!! But, next Tuesday is going to be pretty fun as well. 😉🥪
