Who knew that when I made the decision to get into the food industry way too many years ago it would lead us to this point, here and today. Starting as a little family café, known as Babushka’s Café and Haberdashery, we built it into a pretty successful business, selling our homemade products of perogies, cabbage rolls, kolabassa and of course our baking. With a name change to reflect our changing menus we have morphed into Mr Moms World Catering and Events. We have a full range of services, that are capable of making any event the talk of the town. Our catering went to another level after we catered an outdoor event for the Ladner Business Association (LBA). The event was taken on as a favor/courtesy to one of our long time clients and friends, the Mcknight Family of Ladner, it was however to be one of our last catering jobs, as we were about to shut down our catering arm, wanting to shift directions. Our world exploded at that moment in time and led us on an amazing ride. We have thought and tried to shift gears over our years in business, and we seem to get to slow momentarily then, then we are off in other directions and back again. We have been blessed to have had an amazing base of loyal clients, that have been with us for many many years, they have taken us with them on some amazing journey, as they become successful in their personal and professional lives. This has afforded us the opportunity to travel all over North America; New York, Chicago, Hawaii, Toronto, Halifax Edmonton and Calgary. Many of those clients continue to refer us, and thus we continue to take the odd job. We continue to grow and challenge ourselves in what ever we do. With the release of our first two cook books, it has again taken our catering in a different direction, opening doors not opened before. In more recent years we have done more custom, private jobs in a variety of locals, here in Canada and a broad. Able to arrange all the details anywhere, leaving our clients to enjoy their events here or elsewhere. We have been the “chosen” caterer to some of our clients now going on twenty years, having their confidence that we hold their privacy at the utmost highest level. Of the mind, “pay it back’, or “pay it forward”, we have donated to many charities over the years raising thousands of dollars for a variety of charities and their events. Whether to be local, national or a charity elsewhere, if we are connected to the cause we are always interested in seeing how we may align with any organization. We are your “go to” caterer, and whether it be in town, or in another country take Mr Mom along.
