Amazing review ✨🙏🏼 08.20.2022

“ We got married on August 20th, 2022 at River's Edge Devon. We started our wedding planning journey like most, getting engaged right before the pandemic, and having a lot of unknowns. And by the time we were confident that restrictions were starting to lift, most of the venues we looked at were already booked... However, the universe answered our pleas and gifted us with River's Edge where we met the amazing Diana and Jeremy. At the time of our tour, there was not much on the grounds except for a concrete pad where the tent would eventually be laid on. But we put all our trust in Jeremy and Diana and their renderings, and we are so happy we did.

The ceremony site is one that could take anyone's breath away, a perfect backdrop for all the photos. There was enough seating for our guest count of 200 people. Luckily we had our ceremony programs made into fans, as it was 34 degrees celcius that day, with no lick of wind!

The bridal suite was just like out of a bridal magazine. There was ample space to have 2-3 girls get their hair/makeup done at one time, while the quaint lounge area and kitchen was perfect for others to unwind and sip on mimosas!

The reception site couldn't have been received better by our guests. From the silo bar, to the barn (which we used as a scotch and cigar bar), to the actual tent area-- everything was perfect. Jeremy and Diana were so flexible in letting us drop off our decor throughout the week and set up to alleviate as much stress as possible. One of the true blessings was that we did not even have to lift a finger when it came to taking down decor at the end of the night. Jeremy and Diana worked tirelessly to clean the bridal suite and tent area, just asking us to pick everything up another day.

Our guests said it perfectly, it was the best venue they had ever seen. The amount of places that you could take photos is every photographer's dream!

To sum it all up, as chaotic and stressful as the whole wedding process can be, Jeremy and Diana took it upon themselves to alleviate as much of our worries so we could really enjoy our day. They went above and beyond to ensure our guests were happy-- Jeremy even ran out to Devon to pick us up some more ice when the bar ran out! We could not recommend River's Edge enough to those who are lucky enough to snag a date!

A few things I learned:
• chat with your neighbours, introduce yourself, meet other vendors and build each other up!
• take it easy on the photos so people don’t assume you’re a photographer ha
• wear nylons that are long enough.. and bring socks if they’re not.
• make sure to have someone by your side to make the day even better 👯‍♀️

A snapshot of our love story:
1. To us, Thanksgiving is the most romantic holiday, because that's the weekend we had our first date.
2. We look back with fondness on weekend getaways to Red Deer, because they helped us get through a year of long distance between Calgary and Edmonton.
3. Pharmacy school is much easier when you do it with your best friend.

✨We chose River's edge as our venue, because the ceremony site really does take your breath away. We loved hearing Jeremy and Diana's vision for their venue, and have enjoyed watching it unfold over the last few months. As fellow entrepreneurs with dreams of starting our own pharmacy, we were really inspired by their passion and their vision for the place, and are so excited to be able to see it all come together this summer.

I was terrified to take on the task of transforming our space into the River’s Edge bridal suite. I told Jeremy we needed to hire someone professional to ensure it was done properly! He assured me that I was more than capable ( and it wasn’t in the budget ha).
After hours of searching Pinterest and FB Marketplace, things started to come together. I must say, I am so happy with the way it turned out!

How you both met 🤍:
Matt grew up in the hustle and bustle of Montreal and moved to Alberta 9 years ago, Courtney is the small town Alberta girl with the country wedding vision. We met in August of 2020 at a local pub in Edmonton. Yes, we were the couple that hit it off at a bar in the midst of a pandemic, it must have been the looks he gave me through the protective barriers 😂. We quickly hit it off with our shared love for the Montreal Canadiens and have been laughing together ever since. On our one year Anniversary, Matt popped the question in the garden of the Hotel MacDonald, after a rainstorm, underneath a rainbow 🌈, and it was absolutely perfect! We are over the moon for what this New Year has in store for us and our little family. ❤️

Why River’s Edge: We had to use our imagination and really trust Jeremy & Diana’s vision as to what River’s Edge would come together to be since we visited the venue before most construction had even started. However, there is really not much imagination needed when you roll up to that ceremony site! We knew right away this was the perfect location for us to say our I Do’s. We were on the hunt for something close to the airport but also an elegant outdoor venue that wouldn’t need much dressing up, I mean have you seen that bridal suite?! River’s Edge was exactly what we were looking for and Jeremy & Diana have been amazing to work with and oh so helpful, the breathtaking views were an added bonus! We cannot wait to celebrate our special day at River’s Edge 🥰

✨When it comes to the question of when to book your wedding vendors, your venue is a biggie!
✨Until you’ve booked your wedding venue, you haven’t officially “set a date.”
✨Whether you decide to have separate ceremony and reception venues or host your wedding all in one location, it’s best to book your venue or venues as soon as possible!
