Fall colours and . . . saying goodbye to the rose garden and hello to a newly grass seeded back yard. We kept all the white 'Easy Spirit' roses 'cause they're so hardy and many of the lavender just so it doesn't look too much like a football field. lol.

So nice that your dog is welcome at Meridale. Their French Toast, made with homemade sourdough, rhubarb topping, whip, and real maple syrup, was to die for!

We lost our Bowen yesterday. It feels too quiet and too loud all at once. We will keep ourselves busy, and Kaiden too. We already have a trip planned to visit family.

If there was a soul mate in dogs, Bowen was mine. We’ll all miss him.

This boy. My love. He’s now 3 months post the Big C diagnosis and he’s still being his amazing self. He’s so independent and wants to do everything himself “I don’t need help getting on the bed Mom”.

Today we went for stroller/ walk rides and swims at Bright Angel park. He was in his glory!

This journey with him has been pleasantly surprising. When we first got the diagnosis of bone cancer I was devastated and expected the worst, like right away.

We saw a Specialist as we just wanted to end his pain but we opted out of amputation due to the cost of 6,000 to 10,000 and a prognosis of only 3-5 months due to the aggressive nature of this cancer.

So, we opted for palliative pain management with a focus on quality of life. We bought a dog stroller so we can still go for walks and, among other things, we provide lots of love on our bed in the evenings and mornings. I’ve started morning play time on the bed where I give him tummy rubs and blurpies haha. It’s now part of our morning routine. It surprises me that even during this time we can still create new experiences and memories - it’s not just all doom and gloom.

I understand bone cancer in large dogs is quite common, as well as deadly aggressive, due to all the info on the internet. What the internet doesn’t tell you is that you may still have quality time with your dog. Xox

It’s really happening . . . I remember our first (and only) viewing of our place almost 8 years ago to the day. As soon as I saw it I knew it was the one - there’s just a magical feel here. I’ve had a lot of people say that this place is their dream home and it has been for me too!

I never anticipated Tulipe but what a great experience it was thanks to everyone who stopped by to enjoy our flowers. It really has been a stand out period in my life. So, thank you ☺️.

I thought I’d share our listing. . . a) ‘cause I’m a proud momma, and b) ‘cause who doesn’t like to snoop in other peoples houses, lol.

Just watched this great video by Floret. If I was going to have an idol I think it would be Erin. Her resources helped to spur my interest in having a flower farm . . . Did I mention that the property just got “Farm Status” this year - a personal goal. It cuts our property taxes in half, but more than that, it makes me feel validated and is a nice way to leave things.

Sad too see Tulipe closing? . . . meet Amy and Luke, the farmers behind Maple Bay’s new flower farm .message.in.a.flower. I am thrilled that you’ll still have a local floral option and so happy that they will be able to offer you our tulips and some of our perennials for sale( in addition to their existing crops, of course).

I hope you check out their Insta for flowerstand details. This is their first season so if all the info you want isn’t posted yet, I know it will be coming soon. I told them how wonderful you all are! 🥰
