💀NABDNB Halloween Special💀

LOCAL ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

Alongside her passion for making art, Jen (Mira Nova) has a love for vinyl and began her journey as a Drum and Bass DJ in 2009. Accumulating a growing record collection over the years has enabled her to play from all ends of the genre’s spectrum with ease, delighting music lovers of all kinds, and showing the world the versatility that drum and bass has to offer. Playing for some of Albertas best festivals such as Astral Harvest, Spectrum, Back to Earth, Reign Bough Fiddle and Odyssey Gathering, she continues to spread her love for drum and bass with her soulful selections.

Vixx is a veteran jungle drum and bass DJ of the YEG music scene, renowned for her influence and contributions over the years. Locally known and respected, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the drum and bass landscape in Edmonton. Her sets are characterized by distinctive jungle beats and deep rollers, which never fail to energize the dance floor.

Her dedication to drum and bass is evident in every performance, where her smooth blends and hard-hitting drums create an unforgettable experience. Vixx continues to inspire and elevate the local scene, solidifying her legacy as an influential veteran DJ.

Ampathy is a Canadian DJ from Edmonton. Just like the local weather, he offers a wide range of sounds, whether it be DNB, UK Garage, House, Bass, and Funk. He has been a passionate contributor to the local music scene for over a decade, and mixing tunes for five.

A consistent member of the Northern Alberta Drum and Bass Community, he has been expressing himself with a diversity of DNB subgenres, with an affinity for liquid rollers and blending vocals. Releasing a guest mix on Bassdrive.com as part of the NAB Nest Mix Series. In addition to the many local venues, Ampathy has also played as a guest on BSide Radio, in Vancouver, BC and threw down the vibes at a DNB paint night hosted by NAB DNB in Golden, BC.

is a dashing middle aged man who is most definitely NOT too old for electronic music. This guy is determined to make his mark on the scene. He is on a mission to convert all the ravers in the world, into feral degenerate drum and bass loving lunatics. With a steady stream of releases coming from his main alias as well as his side project, Psyops, he always aims to give away his music for free. Drum and Bass is in his veins and his live shows often meander to the vibe of the crowd as he explores the depths of the genre, with plenty of bootlegs and fresh custom edits for every set. Comprising of Dublic, Maponus and Rubix, these seasoned artists collectively share experiences spanning from production, DJing to MCing. They bring a distinctive style that seamlessly traverses genres from Hip Hop to 140 and, of course, DnB.

The genesis of this trio traces back to the mentorship of Dublic, as Maponus and Rubix immersed themselves in the art of production. What initially felt like a creative apprenticeship soon evolved into something grander, culminating in the establishment of the powerhouse known as "Dubschool".
