We offer rentals for a vast audience which includes weddings, festivals, rehearsals, sermons and much more! Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions ✨

Our space is available to accommodate a small to mid sized church or weekly assembly on Sunday mornings! This is a shared, multi-use facility.

It is a beautiful facility in the heart of Old Strathcona. We have parking, and easy access to Whyte Ave & 99 street. You would have access to the spacious main floor of 1800sqft and optional upstairs of 1400sqft (2800sqft per floor) for additional cost, 3 washrooms per floor, two kitchens, included sound system on both floors, tables & chairs, some storage space -- everything a small-to-mid church needs. The main floor is suited for assemblies of 30-141 people.

Sugar Swing Community of Jazz is a non-profit organization, operating a multi-use community & arts facility. We use the space for our own needs (swing & jazz music events), while renting the space for family gatherings, performances, events, rehearsals, and various users.

Rates scale depending on the facility requirements; currently we are seeking a Sunday morning/afternoon user for the main floor with the option for using the upstairs.
Lowered Price! Asking $1800/mo for main floor; $2400/mo for entire building until Sunday afternoon (classes at 2pm).

Notes:
* The facility is used by multiple users at various times; extra usage is subject to availability
* UNAVAILABLE for 2-4 Sundays per year due to three festivals a year (one in late June/July, Fringe Festival in August, and late September/October)

* Rental fees include sound equipment usage, storage, maintenance, utilities, and weekly venue cleaning. Setup, tear-down, and after-use cleaning is required by church. Negotiable.

A shout out to Jen Mesch and a new work she has produced! March 16-18, 7:30 pm. Her team was rehearsing regularly at our Sugar Swing Venue the last few months to create this work. "Go Where Light Is" is also in collaboration with film and video artist aAron Munson (live projections) with music by Evidence (Stephan Moore and Scott Smallwood). This is happening at our neighbour's place, Mile Zero Dance at their new space!

Dancers are Bridget Jessome, Alida Kendell, Raena Waddell, Giovanni Young, Alison Kause, Jason Romero, Deanne Underwood, Kathleen Hughes and Phil Kloc

Today we're launching a 30-day crowdfunding campaign at https://fundrazr.com/sugarswing! This is to raise funds for some important upgrades to our space, including mirrors, bicycle racks, fire alarm system, new signage, and office furniture. These things will in turn create an even better space for our community of students, instructors, renters, and customers. We hope you may join us and contribute! Sorta like a bake sale, we are offering a limited number of perks for sale, big and small, at a discount typically over 30%, like portable floor, music playlists, Summer Solstice passes, gift cards, rental space, and more to come.
