Back to cutting flowers on August 14th and bouquet making August 15th!
Thank you, and see you then!
Hello, closed from August 5th - 13th
for a Holiday.
Back to cutting flowers on Wednesday August 14th.
Bouquets available on the 15th again.
Thank you!
Yesterday, after the heavy rain and high winds on Wednesday, I had to coral the zinnias in!
Unfortunately, I was too late, and a lot of them toppled over!
(That job was on the schedule for Monday)
But thankful the damage was not too bad! So today, I decided to coral all the dahlias as well. Since they look just perfect now, I didn't want to take the risk of them breaking off if we get a freak thunderstorm over the weekend with damaging winds.
Feels so good having that of my mind!
Also, I did spot a few dahlia blooms today and lots of buds on some varieties.
The zinnias are finally starting to bloom in earnest now!
I'm excited to see how some of the new varieties will do this summer.
Have a happy weekend, you all!
and
It is the start of our 4-week July and 12-week summer flower subscription today.

Sorry folks, no flowers this weekend.
I am in the gap between my spring crop and summer crop.
The recent unseasonably cold and rainy weather didn't help!
Most of these summer flowers like hot and humid weather.
I will have flowers again for my subscription customers on Friday, July 5th!
Hopefully, market bouquets are available as well for the walk-in customer and self-serve that weekend!
Have a happy and safe Canada long weekend!
Happy Canada Day to everyone!

Oh, how I love this time of year! When everything is growing so fast and starts to bloom. Walk along with me through the wild and whimsical perennial gardens! This morning was magic, from the moody sky, the air heavy with the sweet scent of the Orange Mock bush and other perennials. The birds are singing, and you can hear the buzzing of all the insects around you! Pure magic! πͺβ¨οΈπͺβ¨οΈ The gardens are home to many frogs, and Gartner snakes and other small animals. Sometimes, you get the rare gem among in a mix of flower seeds. In this case, it's a mix of Cactus Zinnias I got. This soft buttery yellow in the first picture is just magical. The strong salmon/pink cactus Zinnias is magnificent! The other color of the next Cactus Zinnia is hard for me to determine! Soft pale pink, maybe? Feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments. The last copper/brown Giant Benary Zinnias is a variation of the regular orange Zinnias. There is only 1 plant in the whole section of oranges. So I will attempt to let these few plants go to seed! And see if they will be true to color next year again! It will be exciting to see what will happen! . . . #exciting #seedsaving #newcolors #Cactuszinnias #butteryyellow #palepink #copperorange #flowerfarmerher #experiments #flowerbreeding

This is seriously hard to look at and share, and it is breaking my heart! After all the work of planting and looking after those flowers! Last night, we received another record amount of rain in a short time. The second time. Just as the flowers started to get going, we received a huge amount of rain 2 weeks ago, and everything got flooded. We had more rain in between, but thankfully, not much. The flowers were just starting to recover and producing flowers, and things started to look up again! And now this major rain event and flooding again. Right now, I feel totally defeated and pretty hopeless about this flower season. My other 2 flower plots are pretty soggy but not flooded like the one out back.I After many summers of almost drought like conditions, I finally installed drip irrigation in all my plots, and the irony of it is too hard to think about right now! And to make matters even worse, more rain in the forecast for the next couple of days. Please send positive thoughts and prayers to the flowers! I hope everyone else out there is okay, and no basements got flooded. . . #nofun #discouraged #havetokeepthefaith #flowerfarming

Seasonal locally grown Flowers subscriptions for your Valentine! What could be better! I am pleased to offer you a 4-week Spring Flower subscription with many gorgeous spring favorites! Like specialty tulips, Rananculus, daffodils, and other spring flowers!
Seed starting for 2023 has already begun! Lisianthus are the first flower seeds I start every season. They are extremely slow to grow and very finicky to get going! But they are so worth it and a favorite with many! Every year, when I start the new seed starting season in the dead of winter, I get reminded of the infinite possibility and challenges this new growing season holds! The rush of excitement I feel every year in anticipation for these tiny seeds to sprout new life and grow into beautiful flowers is exhilarating to me. On the other hand, every year holds a new set of challenges, learning experiences, or the possibility of failure! After all, my whole flower season hinges on whether I successfully start all the seeds properly or else there won't be any flowers. But that is a challenge I happily accept and feel energized by it! Imagining how they grow from tiny seed to vibrant, colorful flowers in a matter of month gives me so much joy! From a tiny seed, new life forms, grows into a new plant and flowers through the summer, forms seeds that will fall back into the ground in the fall and sleep all winter and come back to live the following spring. A constant cycle of renewal and changing into a different form or energy! How absolutely beautiful and magical is that and something to live by! Every time these tiny seeds sprout new live, I have this moment of wonder how intricate nature is! The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is not just to feed the body but the soul. -Alfred Austin #seedstarting #seasonallocalflowers #flowergrower #seasonalflowergrower #wonderofnature #lisianthus #spiritual #intricate #springwatertownship #simcoecounty #bunchesblooms #flowerfarmerflorist #flowersubscriptions
