New for this year:
Robot Races
New times: 10am to 5pm (though we like an evening event, we can’t seem to get people to stay late)
Steam Powered Giraffes will be at the Grand Theatre
Possibly a steampunk d&d session
We will be having a centralized food court for our food vendors

Before the show we will be doing workshops, steampunk trivia nights and other promotional events.

Hoping to get to Fan Expo this year to hand our information

Official Acceptance letters will begin being sent out beginning of April
which will include post card packages and other vendor goodies.
If you were one of the vendors from last year and I handed you an “I’ll be at” display sign, consider yourself accepted. Please display the sign at other events you might be doing before Cogs.

We would like to thank each of you for participating in this year’s festival and would like to apologize for some of the confusion that occurred. We obviously have no control over the weather and have decided that we cannot rely on our local utilities company for any changes or reasonable support for our event. However, it has come to out attention that our vendor page had been removed from our website and we didn’t know until this morning. All the important vendor information we thought was available was hidden behind one clicked button. We will be looking into creating a new website for 2025.

We will be taking a short break before beginning work on the 2025 event.
One major change for next year, will be the deadline for vendor applications. The vendor application is available on our website now, booth invoices will be sent out in January and will need to be paid by the end of March.

Hey everyone, looks like rain might not be too much of an issue, however, might be windy. Please remember to bring tent weights for those not renting a tent. Also, zip ties will be used to bond tents to each other to mitigate wind issues.

Important Announcement for all Cogs Vendors

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not be able to provide electricity for all vendors as Centre Wellington Hydro has not allowed us to use the power outlets as they did last year. If your product absolutely needs power please let us know and we will try to accommodate as best we can.

For those who have to have power, please email us.

Here is a portable power supply is very reasonable and works well. We may be looking into purchasing some for festival use but will not know for certain.

I am just getting your vendor packages out today via email, as long as I don’t get interrupted by pesky customers and stuff. The google map is available to find your booth locations however it will be easier to use the email information.

Just a reminder that all vendors must have liability insurance for the day of the festival. Most people can just talk to their business insurance provider to get additional offsite coverage, but if you don’t have that as an option, you can get one day event insurance from places like Duuo. It costs $10 to $20 for the day. It is unfortunate that we have to concern ourselves with this, but better safe than sorry.
You will be expected to email a copy of your proof of insurance by August 15th. Anyone who arrives the the show without proof of insurance having been sent and confirmed will not be able to set up.
We are sorry for the inconvenience but such is life. All events will be asking for insurance moving forward.

I would like to send a shout out to Bumblebee Jewelry who used this image as part of their application for this year. Why do I like this particular image you might ask? Well they took the image at last year's festival so that when I use it in our social media posts it will show Fergus and more specifically, Cogs in the background.
If possible I would really like each vendor to take a couple of images of their work during the show so that we have more images featuring both Cogs and Fergus in the background.

Please remember to like, share and comment on cogs & clockwork posts so that we drive up engagement. This will help get more people at the festival, in front of your products and hopefully increase everyone’s sales.

We are busy in the background getting the festival prepared and doing our best to make it better than our first year. With your help we are hoping the Cogs & Clockwork- Fergus Steampunk Festival will be the best Steampunk festival in Ontario.

We’re getting married at Cogs!
Cogs & Clockwork have joined forces with a wedding planner and would like to offer our vendors an opportunity to participate in our wedding registry. Artists can upload up to 10 items into the form below that they would like on our wedding registry. Vendors will receive 80% of each sale with 10% going to Local Pieces Gallery for processing and website fees, and 10% going to the charity of choice of the wedding couple.

We are getting geared up for 2024 and we are hoping you had a wonderful time last year and plan to be part of our growing event.
We had roughly 7,000 guests last year and are hoping for 10,000 this year.
We are looking at fixing some of our foibles from last year and making our 2024 year better with new events that will be happening in the evening hours.
If you are planning on joining us again pleases complete your application by mid January as the application will be opened to new applicants at that time.

Please remember to get your personal guests to get their teapot racers ready. We would really like to expand on this fun event.

And at the end of the night there was a lonely robot who worked his tiny little ass off but managed to walk away from the steamiest, cogiest clockiest inaugural event.
This little robot hopes that you all had a great show and I know the guests were all happy and enjoyed seeing all the wonderful pieces each of you create with love and care.
We will be sending out a questionnaire as to how we could make this good start better.
Our 2024 application will be available in December. We are exploring making it a two day event next year. Thank you all for your patience today. We will endeavour to develop Cogs & Clockwork into the Steampunk festival of the future, building year upon year.
