You may notice some stores with our old labels for a period of time as we transition but rest assured the products are all the same!

5 years ago we turned the key and unlocked the doors to our dream kitchen, and we called it The Venue

It’s crazy to think that we thought we would never outgrow this space. We thought we had more room than we would ever need, but thanks to the support of all of you, that quickly became untrue.

When the pandemic hit, we like every other small business panicked. It hasn’t been easy, we have made more mistakes than we can count, but we innovated, we revisited our business plan time and time again and we kept pursuing that dream.

In May of 2023 we closed the doors to The Venue as a restaurant to focus on our bread and butter, to go back to how we started, catering! With how busy our catering had gotten, with our industrials, weddings, corporate, soups, breads etc, our kitchen simply wasn’t big enough to do it all! This was sad for some, and it was for us too, but we had to focus on what was working!

We don’t often get a lot of time to sit back and reflect on our journey or where it has taken us. Between running a busy company, and four children, we are lucky to pause to sleep, but when we do I can’t help but feel so blessed to have come as far as we have, to rise above all the challenges we have faced and to continue building this empire and legacy for our family.

An opportunity for us to continue growing, continue expanding and to continue to serve our communities has come up and we are beyond thrilled to announce in January 2025 we will be expanding into Spruce Grove!

We will continue to serve Fort Saskatchewan and surrounding areas through catering as we always have, but we will no longer be operating out of The Venue.

We are ecstatic to turn the key and open the door to our future. This space is everything we need and more. With a kitchen large enough to serve all of our loyal catering clients, fill the freezers and shelves of all our grocery stores, and welcome with open arms all the new clients and opportunities awaiting us in Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and the tri county area!

On top of all of this, we will have banquet rooms, and meeting rooms available to rent and if you thought it couldn’t get any better…

Ken’s Fried Chicken is coming to you!

You’ve heard of it, you’ve seen it, most of you have tried it, and now we are taking Ken’s Fried Chicken to the next level!

A brand new menu, with dine in and take out offerings daily! More details on that to come!

Remember, when one door closes, another always opens! Although, it will be hard to leave The Venue, our growth has reached its max in the space we have and it’s time to welcome what is in front of us. We are so grateful to where The Venue has taken us, and we will forever be proud to continue serving our first home Fort Saskatchewan!

You will still be able to enjoy the full service and experience of Ken’s Catering from wherever you are, that’s the beautiful thing of catering, we come to YOU!

Today was a day for the books! We are so beyond proud of our team and how they handled the pressure!

Two groups, two separate kitchens, two separate teams, all under one name Ken’s Catering

A group of 450 plus at Dow Chemical celebrating path2zero 1 million safe hours worked

And a group of 750 at Nutrien Redwater for their annual Christmas luncheon

This happened all at the exact same time!

Countless hours prepping, planning and executing all to make today effortless and flawless!

From kitchen, to our service team, no one’s hard work goes unnoticed, we are so incredibly grateful for such an amazing hardworking team!

Huge thank you to Nutrien and Dow for your support over the years, and we continue to look forward to serving you in the years to come!

Creative ideas are brewing! I would love to be able to offer an adult cooking class! This Christmas season, we will have a few select dates and times where you get to come in and make your very own take and bake. Essentially each group would learn the basics from start to finish on how to prep, brining and preparing the turkey, making the stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad and cooking procedures. After you are complete you get to take home your take and bake with you ready to enjoy with your family this holiday season! Following in January, we are excited to be working on a “kids can cook” class with the same concept but an easier dish to prepare for their family perhaps a lasagna!!
