We offer half-day and full-day rentals of our 1,500-square-foot commercial kitchen and currently rent to several market vendors. Our kitchen and storage space is great for small vendors who need an affordable way to produce and store products without purchasing their own commercial equipment or cooking utensils. Our team has been working hard to ensure compliance with Covid-19 health regulations. We offer curbside pickup, and our delivery team is masked and gloved while following social distancing rules. Strict hygiene and distancing practices are followed at events, and our on-site dinner parties feature handwashing stations, directional arrows, table bubbles, and other best practices to ensure your health and safety.

Through preferential hiring of immigrant women and refugees, we empower underemployed newcomers with their first Canadian job. Our newcomer staff members receive language training specific to the culinary industry and are mentored on the ins and outs of Canadian workplace culture and entrepreneurship. Some of our staff have gone on to start their own businesses and use their training towards certification as professional chefs. We also support local community groups and businesses. Through contracts with government agencies, Veterans Affairs Canada, and the Canadian Red Cross, we help provide meals to Canadians in emergencies and other vulnerable situations. As a small business owner, today has impacted us on so many levels. We try not to get political on our page, but we can no longer stay silent or do nothing. First, my heart goes out to all small business owners across Canada, and second, how this ridiculous trade war will hurt so many on both sides of the border. We at LJW Catering have decided to "ELBOW UP!'' and ONLY purchase Canadian products and truly make an effort to support small businesses. If we cannot find that item, we will seek other countries, but not the USA. If that product is only made in the US, then we will substitute it for another item, or a particular item will be removed from our menu.

We are working on increasing the numbers for the Thai cooking class for September 18th, at the moment this class is SOLD OUT. We will only be able to increase it by a couple more spots, as we want to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to make their own Pad Thai and Spring Rolls and make the Pomelo Salad together. Back by popular demand, and we are so excited to do it again. We are hosting 4 Chefs, and 4 Cuisine during September and October. Spaces in classes are limited as these classes are very hands-on, and we want to ensure that all participants cook their own dishes. Please note those who have dietary restrictions or allergies, we cannot guarantee there will be no cross-contamination, especially in the Thai Cooking class, where you will learn how to make Pad Thai, which is traditionally made with peanuts and almost every dish contains fish sauce (our version of salt). We are so honoured to be a part of this wonderful night alongside Chess Piece Patisserie & Cafe Ltd and the amazing Patti Hollenberg! We are looking forward to our part in helping raise funds for Fredericton Community Kitchens and all the great work they do in our city.

When I moved to Fredericton 14 years ago and 2 years later opened up LJW Catering, it has always been my vision to create a space that would connect chefs from around the world, who wanted to share their ethnic cuisine with our incredible community. I have had the opportunity to live in 4 different countries and travelled all over the world, experiencing diverse cultures and some of the most incredible cuisines that my palate has ever tasted.

Over the past 10 years, the diverse food culture has exploded within Fredericton and continues to grow as more and more newcomers decide to call Fredericton their new home.

With the incredible team from My Ignite and Sarah Cassie being the point person in this partnership, 4 amazing Chefs will share their culture and cuisine in a hands-on cooking class in the LJW Catering kitchen. Afterward, all participants will get to share their creations in our private dinning and will most likely form connections as they reminisce about the evening.

Clients continually ask me what I really enjoy about our Thai 1 On Dinner parties in their homes, where we get to bring Thailand and other Asian cuisine into your homes and you truly are a guest at your own party. After doing this for 12-plus years, the true highlight for me is making memorable connections with the clients and their guests. And over the years some have become really good friends. This past weekend, with a very strong team, our Sous Chef who plated the dishes, and the service team serving the guests, I had the pleasure of sitting down and making a wonderful connection with one of the guests there that evening in between courses. Ian and I bonded while watching the movie "Life Secret of Pets". This will definitely go down in the history books as one of my favourite highlights. My inner child truly came out when Ian and I could quote lines from the movie to each other :)

We have a special visitor, who has shared her expertise on a crumble topping for our gluten-free and Vegan Fruit Crisp which is one of the desserts served tonight at the SOLD-OUT Charity Dinner for Food Security. We are also excited that our own MLA, David C**n will be attending tonight's event. Thank you to all the volunteers from Fredericton Community Kitchens, St. Mary's Community Food Forest, and Stepping Stones Senior Centre.
