☆OLUWI7☆

Oluwikonok meaning 7 or on the pointing finger in wolastoqey is the solo musical project of Oluwi Aubin-Bérubé a Wolastoqew/Québécois from the deer clan and the community of Wahsipekuk. The goal of the project is to bring back old magical aspect of the Wabanaki culture into the modern eyes of today's music.

Originally from Embro, Ontario, 21-year-old Katie Schurman has lived in Fredericton for three years. Since diving into the local music scene shortly after her 19th birthday, she’s been honing her craft through open mics and writing original songs. Influenced by classic rock, Americana, folk, and country, Katie is now working on her debut album and plans to release music soon.

This year marks our 10th anniversary of Fest Forward, so we’re looking back on past Fest Forwards, you might see some familiar faces! These bands and individuals are still thriving in our local music community and beyond. Every year we’ve had the privilege of working with many talent musicians and seeing their careers blossom!🌻

Cool fact, Fest Forward used to be called New Brunswick Musicians Emerge. In 2015 we changed the name to Fest Forward and it stuck! 🙃
