Tomorrow we will be getting a fresh shipment of flowers in. Once we process those and some waiting orders, we will be able to determine how many orders we can still accommodate.

Every year I call the lead up to Christmas the 14 days of hell. I know, it’s a little dramatic. Realistically though, it’s 24 days of long hours, sore feet, sore hands, sore everything. My hands look like I have a disease that is contagious just by looking at them, I have worked more days consecutively then any human should and my to do list is far too big.

It’s also the time when my staff gets pushed to the max. All of those same things are going on for them plus their personal lives of small children, other jobs - some full time - family obligations and time to prepare for their Holiday celebrations.
.
The moment when the outlook changes is when we catch up on the orders, can see the finish line, have worked so long that we become giddy and a little coo coo.
.
Last year, Chrissy video’d Marilyn and I dancing while working late. I don’t know what it is about the Charlie Brown Christmas song. Every time it comes on we start dancing. It must be the nostalgia of childhood or maybe the vibrant beat of Christmas music that’s different from regular carols.

This year we danced the same but differently. Video’d this year by Colette. If you can believe it, we have taught Chrissy how to make winter arrangements, Tara is welcoming the first flower shop baby in May, Colette is learning how to make floral bouquets and I have gone back to my natural hair colour🤔.
.
Whatever the music, enjoy the dance. Find the love, the passion. Do it with great commitment and you will be able to surround yourself with like minded humans. We miss our friend and flower shop tribe member but she taught us well. This tribe is all things but most of all love.
