I can not believe it's been almost two years since I offered these December centerpieces!! I will be bringing an assortment of flowers and greens, and using local greens to create pieces to brighten your homes with fresh blooms during our cold December winter. And I have a very limited supply (3) of gold Venetian Glass vessels I can't wait to design into show-stopping centerpieces.

Please follow for more info as the Season approaches.

This is milkweed. Monarch butterflies need it to reproduce. They lay their eggs on it and they hatch, the caterpillars eat the leaves then hatch again into the beautiful, endangered Monarch Butterflys.
I have seeds for free if anyone wants them. DM if you are interested.

"Dig your own Dahlias" is on for Sunday afternoon 1:00 to 4:00 pm. November 9th. Here in Grand Bay, NB, Canada.

I have been busy getting the tubers I need for next year out of the ground but there will be lots left over.
These will be sold by the clump, not individual tubers.
Bring your boots and shove/fork and box. Bring a friend and share a clump.

Some to go will be Cafe au lait, Penhill Watermelon, Jowey Nicky or Chantel, Vassio Meggos, some whites, peach, purple and yellow, etc. etc.

Prices are $15, $10 or $5 per clump.

(If there is a big turnout, we will need to limit the number of people in at once to maintain a supervised dig.)

Now it's over!! Hard hard frost last night. It took out all the dahlias growing outside and inside the greenhouses. There were no survivors. So the 5 buckets of blooms I cut yesterday will be the last locally grown flowers I have available this year.

I will carry on with digging the dahlia tubers I'll need for next year.

There will be extras. I am thinking about offering a "dig your own clump" on the weekend. If that interests you then get your rubber roots, pitch forks/shovels and boxes ready and stay tuned. Share with your best gardening friend and come together. One dahlia clump, on average, can yield 5 to 10 tubers when divided. Prices will be a bargain hunters dream.

Wow! It is dead calm here. The calm before the storm?
I'll be doing another harvest of more of these beauties tonight before the wet, windy weather hits.

Ready to wrap up this bouquet leaving here today. I think Dusty gets jealous when I'm working. Pretty sure he tried to knock this over into the pool. Bad Dusty, go catch a vole! Kidding, good Dusty, go catch a vole.
