Friday Night Lights at Maine was a special evening for me. In the last 18 months, a silly cataract had left me with no vision in my right eye. It was simply too dangerous to shoot football with no peripheral vision from the right. This photo, late in the game, with the Black Bear running back Santana-Fis hurtling straight into my lens would not have been possible. I pulled out in time as the players crashed in the same spot I had occupied seconds before (the play even took out the Colgate kicker’s practice net!). Four weeks ago, the kind people at a clinic in Bathurst got me up and running again. God bless them! What a gift to be on the field with excellent vision! I am truly blessed! 😊
