Did I get a bad sunburn while making this? Yes, yes I did.
Was it worth it? Absolutely 😏🔥
I love love love how gorgeous this ceremony arch turned out against the lush garden backdrop of @naturasudbury patio, definitely one of my favourite venues to create colourful magic ✨

My favourite way to assemble a flower palette 🎨✨
It’s one thing to dream of a perfect palette, a whole other thing to actually put it together. And as a visual girly, it doesn’t make sense until I see it all assembled.
Shopping for flowers can always be a little tricky because what worked one week might not work the next. Which is why whenever I do shop for flowers, I always start with my main inspo (this week was the peonies & garden spray roses 💕) and work my way out from there.
Knowing I wanted to keep it light and airy, blending the apple blossom snaps with the white mini gerbs & white wax flowers brightens the palette while the touches of green viburnum and Jacob’s ladder adds a pop a freshness.
What do you think of this weeks flower palette? 🤔💐

Come celebrate 4/20 with me this weekend @theokalita for @amberhillgallery Smoke Show pop-up!🍃
Not only will I be teaching a 1-hour workshop where you get to choose your favourite textured foliage and how to manipulate it to fit your vision, I’ll also be sharing all my tips and tricks I’ve learned over the years to help bring your design to life and how to keep it thriving as long as possible on your table✨
Along with us making a mess outside with our playful green designs, @peaach.maango is holding her first solo exhibition ‘Flower Power’ inside the gallery - don’t want to miss that! 🌼
Lastly, @sporeceramics & @peaach.maango will be selling beautiful ceramic pieces from smoking accessories to crafted ceramics so there’s something for everyone! 👏🏻
There are only a couple of tickets left for the workshop, so make sure you snag them before they’re gone! 💨

Celebrating Valentines Day a little early in the studio 🖤
What $95 in Northern Ontario will get ya✨
Did you know that not all flower pricing is the same? There are so many different factors at play, prices can change depending on the time of year, where you’re located, where the flowers are sourced from and how they get to your local flower shop 😩
This makes it hard when a somebody tells you “oh yeah well I was able to get it for half the price in *insert major city here*?!”
Like yeah, im sure you did. But we’re in the north, and flowers can’t grow under these big piles of snow 🥲
With that being said, I like to make sure I’m as transparent as possible when it comes to pricing. Providing flower recipe breakdowns whenever I can.
For example, the arrangement shown included the following:
~ x3 Israeli Ruscus at $2.85 ($8.55)
~ x2 seeded eucalyptus at $3.00 ($6)
~ x1 snap dragon at $4.50
~ x2 hydrangeas at $6.30 ($12.60)
~ x3 tulips at $2.68 ($8.04)
~ x2 flat mums at $2.40 ($4.80)
~ x1 playa Blanca rose at $5.85
~ x1 limo at $3.50
~ x1 statice at $3.25
~ x1 bunny tail bunch at $2.50
~ x1 satin ribbon now at $2.50
~ x1 ceramic pot at $13.50
+ 25% Design labor
Now could I have made the arrangement bigger, using cheaper flowers - totally! But that’s where the smaller details of where the arrangement will be kept matters. You don’t want a giant carnation & mum filled design if you don’t have the room for it right?
Needless to say, pricing flowers is hard. Making sure to meet the clients expectations is also hard.
We’re doing our best with what we have to work with, even if Costco can do it for cheaper 😘
I’d love to hear your thoughts, do you love having flowers no matter the cost or are you looking for the best deal?
