Im so excited to share a small snippet from my September floral retreat! It truly was a dream come true to host a small group for an immersive floral business and design workshop over a few days. I packed a lot into our time together, learned a few things myself, and enjoyed watching attendees dive a little deeper into their dreams, floral skills, and community.

My process of creating a casual, layered tablescape -

- create a focal point, typically the flower arrangement
- cluster candles of different heights and styles, using colours and overall style from the flower arrangement
- accent with fruit that compliment colour tones in the floral arrangement and scatter them so it looks like they “fell” there
- placement of items is typically in pairs of varying heights or a triangular or diagonal positioning of like kinds; grouping elements can make a greater impact then spreading them evenly
- you want the viewer’s eyes to settle somewhere naturally and then gently drift across to the other elements, while coming back to the focal point

One of my personal favourite moments in a day is the room reveal. The expressions and reactions to the bride or couple seeing their reception for the first time is always a heartfelt moment. It’s such a special detail to include in your itinerary for the day because you have spent literal months, sometimes years, planning it! You should experience how all of those details come together in real life before your guests arrive in the room. You won’t regret making time for it!
