"All I ever wanted was to have a family, son when Joseph was born it was the beginning of everything. When he was very young, Joseph was always racing ahead of the curve. He said his first word at 3 and a half months and was walking by 9 months. But, at one, he started having health problems - ear infections, persistent runny nose, protruding belly - and he started to slip behind in his milestones. It wasn't until he was 4 that we learned it was likely a type of mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS). That's when our lives completely changed. " (you can read the full article at )

Hi, I'm Fran, owner and floral designer at The Bloom Room and Joseph is my gorgeous boy. He's 10 now, and we've spent the last 6 years learning as much as we can about MPS, specifically San Filipo Syndrome, the type Jo has. It was just recently and I wanted to take this opportunity to encourage other parents who have received this diagnosis for their child.

You are not alone. You have the power to push back on this illness and its symptoms. Don't lose hope, and don't be afraid to look for and speak to other parents in your position - sometimes an understanding ear makes a world of difference.
