Did you know there are nearly 400 species of bees, 100 species of butterflies, and 3,300 species of moths in Ontario 🤯?

While some of these are generalists that can pollinate, eat, and breed on a range of plants, many are specialists that rely on specific native host plants. Without these host plants, we risk losing our specialists who act as a food source for the birds and animals that rely on them.

As landowners, you have the power to support our beneficial insects by replacing non-productive plants like turf-grass and invasive ornamentals with native species.

Thankfully, there are some great local organizations and nurseries to help you plan and implement a healthy native yard. Please add any to the comments we may have missed!
