A message from STL Founder & CEO: Happy International Women’s Day 🤎

For my entire life I’ve been surrounded by the strongest, most empowering women on earth. My grandmother, my mom, my aunt, my girlfriends, their family members, colleagues a-plenty and ME! I’ve learned so much and I’m eternally grateful.

Over fifteen years in business has afforded me the opportunity to connect and genuinely bond with the most fiercely motivated, supportive and independent women I’ve ever met and I’m so proud to say, there’s far too many to list. From wedding industry gals, to business moguls, to local owners to female led communities. You all amaze me 🙌

Truthfully, there’s no way I could have gotten to where I am without them. Seeing all that these incredible women accomplish and witnessing their hard work and dedication to their craft is SO inspiring. I couldn’t help but not be that myself, right !?

Ladies, thank you for being you. Thank you for teaching me and helping me to grow. Thank you for growing with me. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for constantly being each others and my hype women. Thank you for giving me the confidence to step into a leadership role. Thank you for accepting me with open arms when I put my foolish self out there for everyone to see! I look up to and admire every one of your unique abilities.

Another trip around the sun. This is 43✨🤎🥂

The last 12 months have been challenging, rewarding, difficult, but oh so sweet and packed with growth.

Today, I reflect on the past year with compassion and warmth for myself - much like a birthday hug , I’m giving myself all the love and acknowledgment I deserve for being a stronger woman than I ever thought possible 🤎

This year, I’ve experienced hardship, with the loss of loved ones, including my beloved grandmother and Sam Dog and loss takes a toll, a big one. I’ve suffered personal setbacks, emotionally dark times and business challenges, but I’ve persevered and made it through with the help of loved ones🤎

However, I choose to focus on the good. This year had been sprinkled with the sweetest moments of joy and opportunity, amongst the grief and struggle.

🤎I’ve focused on my physical health and found community in . I’ve never been one to feel as though I belong, but I do now!
🤎I’ve focused on my mental health and took the steps to be tested and diagnosed with ADHD . Just having that diagnosis has changed my life
🤎I focused on my accomplishments and have worked on not comparing myself to others. Realizing that everything happens exactly as it should , in its own time
🤎I’ve realized that I can’t be a good leader and do everything on my own, so I’ve surrounded myself with the best team .4
🤎I’ve cherished every moment spent with my family and friends, even more than I ever have
🤎And finally, I’ve welcomed the bestest boy Ted into my hear, home and life . I’m so lucky 🙏

Price transparency should be a thing across the board in the wedding industry IMO. Here’s just a few reasons why, but I’ll preface that by saying - do whatever works for you and your business ✌🏻 1️⃣ Being upfront with your price point will attract the right clients by offering couples that are looking to hire you a glimpse into what they can expect and what their investment is before you even chat! 2️⃣Avoids sticker shock and disappointment! You may have a dream potential client reach out, you may vibe well, the consultation may go amazingly, but when they receive your quote, said dream client could realize that realistically, your services are too far out of budget because it’s hard for engaged couples to pinpoint how much things cost while planning a wedding. Or they may hire you, but your journey together starts with a difficult conversation and attempts at negotiation. 3️⃣Public facing pricing can save both the business owner and couples A LOT of time and energy! It’s a common misconception that quoting planning clients can happen at the snap of a finger. This simply isn’t the case. You communicate, you schedule and complete a consultation, you become invested and take time to create a quote for your potential client and still, in the end they may not be able to afford you. This can be avoided if they go into the consult already having an idea of cost. 4️⃣Being open and honest with your pricing and paying it all out on the table will always build confidence and trust in potential clients. They’ll immediately realize that you’re so great at what you do that you have nothing to hide and want to hire you even more to be part of their wedding day dream vendor team ! In a industry that’s only been taken seriously in recent years, I think it’s important that we set the standard together and take the guesswork out of things couples and colleagues alike.
