The Crown Harriston is Your place to be for films, rentals, music, exhibits, workshops, games, readings, lectures and other events. Built in 1949 as a cinema, closed it's doors in the late 70's to become a church and is now reopend again as a Cultural Centre. Equipped with a new movie projector and surroundsystem, the building still maintains many original features. The auditorium has a filmscreen, a 16 by 24 feet stage with overhead lights and has a capacity of 220 authentic seats.

Haus of Gore will be performing at "Drag Night - Minto Pride Fundraiser" on Saturday June 29th at The Crown Harriston! Presenting: Paris Gore. She started drag in Toronto in 2011, and since then, has used her platform to work toward her goal of ending the stigma around people living with HIV/AIDS. In 2017, she started the Haus of Gore, where she has helped many drag kings and queens start their own journey.

Haus of Gore is coming to harriston for the Minto Pride Fundraiser. Presenting Zephyr Shadow!! Performing as a drag king with the House of Gore in April 2018. Prior to COVID, he performed monthly in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, United States, and 3-4 times per year in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. He has recently immigrated from Michigan to Ontario but plans to continue performing on both sides of the international border. Zephyr is the resident “bad boy” of his drag family.

Presenting: Gemini Gore! A transgender drag queen residing in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. She started drag almost 6 years ago through her close friend and mentor, Paris Gore. Gemini takes inspiration from many sources, including other notable drag figures, R&B divas, and Y2K fashion with a twinge of raw and raunchy attitude. You can always expect her to bring stunning visuals that capture the essence of the song that she performs when she hits the stage.

This would also mean merchants are no longer allowed to put out flags. Decorative banners and wraps would also be no longer allowed to be up. They're mandating that only flags and banners representing no other country than Canada, province of Ontario and Town of Minto would be allowed be up and the flags of the legion as they are grandfathered in. This goes beyond pride and is a direct attack on our freedom of expression (within reasonable manners). If you want to know more about this matter please check out the council meetings of the Town of Minto on YouTube.

In response to the delegations and letters demanding public neutrality and removal of our Pride decorations, if you are a Minto resident please help us by emailing [email protected] your support for our initiatives.

The Town has been a great ally and supporter of DEI work, and we want to show them that what they're doing matters! Please send in your letters by noon on June 12th, so they can be added to the June 18th council meeting when community flags and public decorations will be discussed again. 🏳️‍🌈
