Recreation Centre, Station Road, Heart’s Content
July 27th 12 to 5pm
July 28th 12 to 4pm
Admission only $5.00 includes a coffee, tea, water and cookies served to your table
Tickets on Prize Draws are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00
Quilts and Rugs on display and some for purchase
We hope to have a Sewing Store vendor there with a display of items to purchase or peruse (info to follow)
Come along and join us!
PS.... Don’t forget the FREE Admission “Geraniums Plus” Flower Show right next to the Recreation Centre (same hours)

It’s time to meet the Opening act for “A Christmas Time with Jim Payne & Fergus O'Byrne”, Live at Trinity Hall, This Sunday Afternoon December 17th.

Shana and Dillon Brown from Whiteway, NL, have been performing throughout Eastern NL for the last 9 years. Since the ages of 9 and 10, these siblings have been performing on button accordion and fiddle respectively, showcasing quality musicianship well beyond their years.

Some of their performance highlights include, The Eastport Accordion Festival, Newfoundland & Labrador Folk Festival, and multiple community events such as Hant’s Harbour Come Home Year.

Now at the ages of 18 and 19, and into their university years, getting to perform together again is a real treat. They look forward to opportunities to continue to share their music with all audiences far and wide. Music continues to strengthen their bond and bring so much happiness to their lives.

Sunday’s traditional Newfoundland Christmas concert at Trinity will surely be one which is talked about for years to come.

Photos of Mizzen Honourary Lifetime Achievement Awards evening. So deserving of this award were Alice Cumby, Bob Balson and Claude Rockwood. Unfortunately Claude was away. First time for these awards and we thank the honorees for their selfless work over almost 40 years!

Caption: “Heart's Content. Heart's Content, on the south shore of Trinity Bay, is a spacious and commodious harbour. It has been rendered a place of considerable note since 1865, by the landing of the Atlantic cables of the Anglo-American Telegraph Company. From a mere fishing village it has assumed the proportions of a small town, in which is located the Cable company's buildings, where a large staff of operators are stationed. Here the American end of the '65-'66 cables are landed, and from hence messages are continuously flashed to and from both continents, along the floor of the mighty Atlantic ocean. A visit to the cable offices at Heart's Content is one which will well repay the sight-seer. The courteous and gentlemanly operators take great pleasure in explaining the mysteries of this wonderful invention to all who feel an interest in such gigantic scientific triumphs.”

We want to thank our 15 fabulous vendors today; all very classy and professional. We had April Harvey a Children's book author and illustrator who had one of her books in Amazon's Best Children's book list!! The Arts Center was blocked on times. We thank those of you who attended and supported local today. Surely appreciated!
