Today we celebrate my eldest daughter Elliott, who was born with a rare genetic condition called Cri Du Chat, also known as 5P- Syndrome. If youβve been by the flower shop on a weekend or evening, the odds are good that youβve seen our Elli bean bumming around the shop, playing with flowers and lighting up everyoneβs life with her gorgeous smile. Awareness day is May 5th of every year, and on that day we wear striped socks, one long and one short, or represent the complete and the missing piece of chromosome 5.
We celebrate Elli every day, but today in particular our family takes the time to celebrate her, and spread awareness for her, and for the many things that make her different and soooo very wonderful. We are all better people for loving her, and for learning along side her. If youβd like to learn more about 5P- Syndrome, go to https://fivepminus.org or of course, ask me! There is literally nothing I love more than talking about this amazing kid π€
If youβd like to spread awareness today, then please rock those striped socks, one high and one low, to shout love for our best gal π€
