We will be at the Sydenham Point tomorrow from 11 am- 4pm!
It might rain on our parade tomorrow, but all events are slatted to go ahead! 🇨🇦 Some activities may be modified or cancelled to accommodate the weather, but we hope to see everyone out and about enjoying the Canada Day festivities! Here are some reminders to help you get the most of the day:
🛑 The Sydenham Parade road closure will begin at 9:30 am, the parade starts at 10:00 am. The parade will leave the firehall and make its way through the village, ending at The Point. Plan your routes and expect delays.
🎆 A Level One Fire Ban is still in place in South Frontenac since part of our Township falls under the Ministry of Natural Resources Restricted Fire Zone. While campfires and cooking fires are permitted, unsanctioned fireworks are not permitted unless it is an approved commercial display for a special occasion.
🎆 Our firework show has been sanctioned and approved by the Fire Department, so it will go ahead unless we are experiencing the thunder and lightning that is forecasted. The show can go on with rain, just not lighting. At the time of posting, the forecast looks like we can proceed. Please be sure to follow us for the latest updates.
🚌 Take a shuttle bus to and from the show in Sydenham! Buses will collect families at 8:45 pm from 10 locations across the township with a return trip after the show!
🚧 The Cat. Trail will be closed between George Street and Clearwater Road trailheads for the firework set up from 12pm - 12 am. Alternate routes are posted on the gates.
🚗 Canada Day events are often very busy - Residents are reminded to slow down and drive with extreme caution, particularly near the event sites at Glendower Hall, Centennial Park, Point Park, and Storrington Lions Club Hall.
