Darren watched Demelza ski past him one fine day at Silver Star and thought to himself "Now that's the kind of woman I'd want to marry." And so he made it happen. Raced after her, caught up, and asked her out. Only fitting that they married at the top run at Silver Star. They and their wedding party skiied to the ceremony location in full wedding regalia and I got to be the lucky person that married them overlooking the ski run. Talk about being perfect for each other. Happy marriage Demelza and Darren!

The votes are in for Best Wedding Officiant in Kelowna for the Best of Kelowna 2026 civic awards, and I am absolutely delighted to have won the number two spot. All of the other wedding officiants in this are my colleagues who I work with regularly and respect.

To everyone who took the time to vote: thank you. Lives are busy and you didn't have to. You did anyway, and that means everything to me. It tells me I'm right to be doing what I love — being around people like you.

Now I'm off to celebrate. With ice cream of course.

I married Hayley and Andrew (with Henry leading the wedding party with his prize stick) on the top of Knox Mountain overlooking Kelowna. They were so happy to be marrying each other in the presence of their upcoming daughter as well as their family and friends. They had each told me of their excitement to be marrying each other and becoming a family, and after their vows, I read a letter to their daughter from words they had given me. This letter will be given to their daughter when she is old enough to read. Thank you Hayley and Andrew (and Henry!) for allowing me to be a part of your day!

Few of us enjoy asking for favours, affirmation, or extra scoops of ice cream. I know, I'm one of them. But here I am anyway.

I made it to the finalist round for Best Wedding Officiant in the Best of Kelowna 2026 awards, and the final voting round is open now through May 12. Kelowna has an incredible group of wedding officiants, and I'm honestly honoured to be among them. But the only way this works is if the people who know my work show up, and that's you.

I've spent the last seven years officiating weddings in the Okanagan, and I'm currently writing a book about how couples can help their relationships last, because what inspires two people to get married should also help them stay that way. This community is a big part of what drives that work.

If you've been to a wedding I officiated, you're a couple I've had the privilege of marrying (or you're about to be!), or you've just always had inexplicably good taste, I would love your vote.

Here's how:
1. Google "Best of Kelowna 2026 voting"
2. Log in or create a free account
3. Find Wedding Officiant under Entertainment, Events & Tourism
4. Vote for Lise Leroux or Reimagine Celebrations
5. Save your vote

That's it. Two minutes. And I will be honestly grateful. It means that what I love doing is actually working.

Some exciting news -- and a small favour if you're willing!

I just found out I've been nominated for Best Wedding Officiant in the Best of Kelowna 2026 awards -- and honestly, it made my day. I work alongside an amazing group of fellow wedding officiants here in Kelowna and am honoured to be part of such a talented group of individuals. I am also so happy that I get to marry the couples I marry. They are all unique, incredible, and make me love my job.

So if you've been to a wedding I officiated or were a couple I married and felt I merit this Best of Kelowna award, I'd be so grateful for your nomination. It only takes a few minutes and the deadline is April 13.

Here's how:
1. Google "Best of Kelowna 2026 nominations" and it will take you to the right place.
2. Create a free account
3. Click 2026 Nominations
4. Find Entertainment, Events & Tourism and choose Wedding Officiant
5. Type Lise Leroux or Reimagine Celebrations
6. Don’t forget to Save at the bottom to save the nomination.

Thank you for being part of so many beautiful days with me.

On Wednesday, I was lucky enough to marry Alyssa and Justin in Salmon Arm. The ceremony was a wonderful blend of Alyssa's cherished Filipino wedding traditions and Justin's Canadian heritage. As I watched them do their first dance together during the reception, I saw how proudly he held her, and how when she looked up at him, happiness just shone out of her. That's why I love my job.

WATCH OUT! The scammers get you with ego 🙂. I was astonished and delighted this morning to receive an email saying I had been nominated as the "best wedding officiant in Kelowna" with a satisfaction score of over 95%. Because I am a somewhat skeptical person though, I googled them before clicking on their "helpful link to view my listing." Good thing I did. It is a scam. Sigh. I was pretty happy for a few seconds there though. Anyway people, be careful what you click on!

Yesterday Angelique and Dumas were married in the local village hall in Kelowna, surrounded by their family and loved ones. Dumas was propelled down the aisle by their elderly blind and deaf dog, Marley, who was wearing a rather fetching tuxedo. They were ecstatically happy and struggled to get through their vows. They have found each other and I was so happy to be marrying them and be a part of their day. Happy life, Angelique and Dumas!
