Another way we suggest for the couple to beat the heat is to create a timeline that allows for golden hour photos. Trying to get photos earlier in the day can not only be hot but the direct sun can cause shadows and squinting. Evening light creates stunning photos in cooler temperatures!.

When it comes to summer weddings another tip we suggest to our couples is either asking the venue or prepping it beforehand is 'ice towels'. In simple terms, they are cold and wet facecloths (or other small towels) that guests can use to cool themselves. They can be kept in a cooler and used whenever the guests or wedding party requires a little extra something to stay refreshed.

We love when couples have real flowers for their ceremony decor. However when it comes to heat, flowers are not a fan and will start to wilt and die quickly.
We suggest ensuring that the flowers have somewhere cool to stay until right before the guests start to arrive. If the ceremony starts at 3:00 pm, we suggest putting the flowers out around 2:00 pm. If this is something the florist can not assist with, we can!

Make sure when you are putting on the wedding bands during the ceremony that you hold the ring without blocking the view! You want to showcase the rings rather than hide it.

We love a detailed wedding day timeline! It helps ensure the wedding party and vendors are all on the same page when it comes to what is happening when. Apart of our job as a wedding day coordinator is to help finalize that timeline with you; however you will want to start working on the timeline at the beginning of the planning process so you have a general overview of how the day is going to go. (Know what time to put on the invitations for guests is a big help.) Don't worry though, wen you book our wedding day coordination services we send you a timeline template so you have a starting point.

The Story

August 2020, and the inspiration and motivation to launch my own wedding planning company is re-sparked. I have dreamt of having my own company since the age of 5 when I planned my birthday parties a full year in advance. Truthfully I did not know when or what that would look like for me, all I knew was that one day I wanted to become the proud creator of a business that had a positive impact on people's lives. I knew that I wanted to help couples with their wedding, now all I needed was the means of doing it which brings me to the creation of In This Moment Weddings.

I have recently fallen in love with Fall! Growing up my favorite season used to be summer, it had my birthday, no school, hot weather with endless time with friends. However as I’ve gotten older I soon came to realize that I have taken a liking to Autumn. When the leaves start to change color from green to hues of orange, burgundy and yellow it feels like the world is starting a new chapter. With the starting of In This Moment I too was starting a new chapter. The rich colors remind me that the world is constantly changing and that each day is a gift and not a given right. Autumn is a time of reflection, gratitude and love, therefore when choosing the colors for In This Moment I wanted to showcase those same feelings.

You may be asking yourself, why an orchid? When I was researching and planning the brand for In This Moment I remembered something a friend of mine mentioned a few years back. He said, ‘anyone can give roses but to give an orchid is to show somebody that they are exceptional’. I wanted to have a company that wasn't typical rather than a company that was exceptional. When I researched further I learned that the orchid is known as the most coveted of the ornamental plants. The orchid flower itself represents grace, love, beauty, luxury and strength. Those are the qualities I wanted to showcase for my company.

So I had the colors and logo idea, however I still needed a name. I tossed around a few ideas, yet known of them resonated with me. I kept going back to the ‘why’. Why did I love being a wedding planner? Why was it important for me to help couples with their wedding? Why was I so passionate about the wedding industry? Why do people get so stressed about their wedding? Why did I want to launch my own company?
