Which means one thing… it’s time to lock in your key vendors for 2027 (yes… 2027!!!)

The vendors who only take one wedding per day are the ones you want to secure first — think:

✨ Plated vs Family Style vs Buffet — let’s talk table design! ✨
How you serve dinner directly impacts how we style your tables.

Here’s the rule of thumb:

🍽 Plated Dinner
A fuller, more decorated table is perfect — chargers, candles, florals, layered details. With no serving dishes coming to the table, we can go all out.

🥂 Buffet Dinner
Similar to plated! Since the food isn’t hitting the table, we can lean into a richer design with décor that elevates the guest experience.

🥘 Family-Style Dinner
This is where we edit. Serving platters need room to land, so we keep things intentionally lighter — think streamlined florals, slimmer candles, and thoughtful negative space.

No matter your dinner service, there’s a way to make it beautiful — it just might look a little different. ✨

It turns out planning is almost universally despised. And while that’s hard for me to relate to (because I genuinely LOVE it), I totally get why.

TIME. EFFORT. CONFUSION.

Timelines. Guest comfort. Website building. Endless vendor research. EMAILS. Overall design direction. Floral sticker shock. Pinterest expectations that belong in another universe 🤯

✨ Hi! It’s been a minute, so I thought it was time to reintroduce ourselves (+ the fam!) I’m Molly — the planner behind Planning by Molly ✨

I stepped into the world of events in 2016 and in 2023 started my own independent business. What started as a side hustle, has grown into a full-service wedding and event planning business rooted in intention, organization, and heart. 💛

The ethos of our vision is to work with clients to bring their visions to life through thoughtful planning, refined design, and calm, confident coordination.

While I lead the planning, design, and day-of ex*****on, my husband Kyle is the backbone behind the scenes — managing setup, logistics, and anything that needs an extra set of hands. Together, we create seamless, elevated event experiences with a strong team dynamic and a shared commitment to excellence.

Outside of weddings, we’re raising our two little ones — our busy two-year-old son and our joyful one-year-old daughter — who keep us grounded and remind us daily of the importance of celebrating life’s milestones. 🚙🎀

As a family, we love the outdoors: skiing, hiking, camping, and boating whenever we can. We also love hosting friends and family in our home and are deeply passionate about the Okanagan and the incredible lifestyle it offers.

Kyle and I both work day jobs (nursing and engineering) and share a big dream of one day owning our own venue 💒
