✨ pro budget tip: GST FREEZE ✨

Upcoming wedding couples for 2025/2026… there is a federal GST freeze on ALL goods and services from now until February 15, 2025.

What does this mean???

Save hundreds of dollars if you book your vendors in the next 2(ish) months or on purchased items. Buy decor, book vendors, pay deposits… whatever you can and SAVE $$!!!!

* the Canadian federal government has froze GST on all services and goods from December 14, 2024 - February 15, 2025 *

Molly, what is your specialty?

Let me tell you! I do my best work when I am ALL IN. That being said, my favourite type of event to plan is when I am hired start to finish AKA full event/wedding planning!

Private property events usually require the most coordination and work, but often yield the most beautiful and personal events. These are my favourite. However, I feel incredibly blessed and excited to work at other stunning Okanagan venues all summer long.

Places like , , & .creek.farm (to name a few).

✨ CONTINGENCY ✨

fun fact about me: I NEED a contingency plan. What are we gonna do if…

One of the many reasons to hire a wedding planner/day of coordinator. We are there to preemptively anticipate the unexpected & unlikely scenarios. Then if they happen we are already prepped and we can spring into action quickly.

Other things we had “just in case”: an extra gazebo, extra umbrellas, extra coffee, & heaters 🔥

So you are choosing a planner and you do not know where to start. Out of all the AMAZING planners in the Okanagan, what makes our planning service stand apart?

• COMMUNICATION 📲 - we will be best friends by the time your wedding comes around. I am a big believer in unlimited and immediate communication. We will text, email, phone, FaceTime & meet as often & as much as needed.

• ALL INCLUSIVE - I am not just available for your wedding. I also will plan any welcome events, rehearsals, post wedding brunches… you name it. This is all included in our full planning service.

My best advice/tips when designing your table:

• be sure to allocate enough space for your dinner service & guests items.

• candles are a MUST. Even if they are LED. Soft lighting is oh so dreamy 🕯️

• a personalized name card & menu elevates any table and can be done for a relatively low cost 🔖

• bud vases/greenery can be a more cost effective way to incorporate real florals to your table 🌷🌱

• remember that your table setting (dish, charger, cutlery, & glassware) are items you must have anyway, so are a good way to personalize your design. 🍽️

meal service options… a crash course ✨🍴

1. Buffet: the quickest way to get large groups through. Most cost effective. Usually more options for main courses.

Timing: 30mins - 1 hr.

2. Family Style: more intimate, elevated and personal. Usually 4 - 5 courses. Served one course at a time. Dishes are passed around usually in groups of 6 -8 people.

Timing: 1 - 2 hrs

3. Plated: a full meal service. Each course served individually to the guests. Usually 4 courses.

Timing: 2 - 4 hrs

Let’s talk about CAKE 🤤

Every event needs a delicious dessert, they just do. Traditionally cake is served at most weddings - is this particular delicacy a must? Up for debate.

If you’re looking for tradition, a statement, and/or an art form (cause really, the cakes that bakers make are an art) - then a custom cake could be for you.

If you’re looking for the “idea” of a cake, or just something delicious to eat and serve - then maybe a made to order cake is more up your alley.

Cue: !!! A local cake vendor who does both! This is their standard carrot cake… and look at how beautiful this is. Easily serving 40 servings, this cake does not break the bank but still allows the tradition and beauty of a cake!

When it comes to planning, details, budgeting… I am full of ideas and recommendations… leave it to me! ✨🫶🏼🤍

✨ The team ✨

Hi! 👋🏼 there has been lots of new faces, followers, and inquiries since we last introduced ourselves so we thought we would redo an introduction.

We are Molly & Kyle! The husband and wife team behind “Planning by Molly”. We have been working events in the okanagan together since 2017. We started working for a catering company as servers, bartending, coordinating and the rest is history. Now we are taking on full scale planning & design weddings.

While I (molly) am the lead planner, coordinator, designer and spokesperson; Kyle is the jack of ALL trades. Set up, muscle power, back up bartender, builder, chauffeur, and business support. Between the two of us we will ensure your event is run perfectly and smoothly.

In our free time we enjoy outdoor activities (skiing, hiking, biking, camping), discovering new food places, and taking our family on adventures 🌎🗺️🗻

We take 10 full weddings per season and also do special events throughout the year! If you’re looking for a hardworking, honest, and reliable team to make sure everything about your event is run smoothly - we are your pair 🍐
