✨ TENTS ✨

I just locked in a full planning estate wedding for 2026. I absolutely adore planning “backyard” weddings, but they call for a lot of work, coordination and attention to details that you do not have to consider when working with a professional venue.

Things like: where is your power source, what are local bylaws, where do you get your water from, and where the heck do 50 vehicles park?

a gorgeous black & white tidewater tent wedding for the memory bank. 🖤🤍

The Italian in this bride was subtly reflected through a cannoli dessert & homemade Italian wine. The groom just wanted a party (mission accomplished 😂)!

I love when the bride and groom personalize their day - it’s what will be remembered!

✨ ESTATE WEDDINGS ✨

gosh darn, do I love a personal and private estate wedding! But holy guacamole, are they a lot of work!

Thinking about having a “backyard wedding”?! I am in full support, but first things first, hire a planner!!! I am here to tell you - these weddings require the MOST amount of planning, work, set up, tear down, and coordination.

A few things you have to consider when planning a private estate wedding:

1. STRUCTURE
where will you have your reception? A tent? Inside the house? Just on the lawn? In order to comfortably plan this event, you need some sort of covered area for guests.

2. WATER + ICE
I am not kidding! This is always an issue with private property weddings. Usually there is not enough freezer space for bags of ice, and the water source is a treck for the guests. Where, how, and temperature of water is a must-have consideration.

3. PARKING/SHUTTLES/ATTENDANTS

Where will your guests park? Who’s telling them where? How will they get home? Considering the liability of hosting a wedding is something that is often overlooked. Wedding venues require shuttles for a reason.

✨ REHEARSAL/WELCOME ✨

Wondering about a rehearsal dinner? Thinking about scrapping the dinner for a more cocktail style welcome party? Wondering what the difference is? Well let me tell you!

Rehearsal dinner: Usually following the ceremony rehearsal. Immediate family & wedding party. Often at a secondary venue. Can be as chill as dinner + wine, or as elevated as estate venues with a themed design 🎀✨🍽️

Welcome party: a welcome event occurring before the wedding. A come & go vibe where the bride and groom have an additional time to visit and connect with guests. As wedding days can be chaotic, many of my clients want to take an extra moment to thank their guests for carving out the time to come to their celebration. 🥂🍻

✨ KIDDOS ✨

To have kids or not to have kids? The million dollar question.

If you’re like me (obsessed with kids & babies) you may want them incorporated into your wedding, but are wondering how to do this comfortably; cue MOLLY!

Some things I like to do for my weddings with kiddos:

✨ individually created “goodie” bags with the kids name. Tailored to their age. Activities to keep them busy during the lull… just something I like to provide!

✨ sit the kids and their mom on the edge seat during the ceremony, allowing them an easy way to exit if needed.

✨ snacks. So many snacks. I keep candy, go-squeezes, fig bars, and goldfish on hand.

✨ kids eat first. Always. We do not need hangry toddler/kid on deck.

✨ GOLDEN HOUR ✨

The hour before the sun completely disappears, offering the most dreamy light for capturing everlasting images.

As I am planning the timeline for my couples, I always consider what time sunset is, and make sure I slot a 20 minute window for the bride and groom to sneak away for golden hour photos.

In a perfect world, this is the period of time after the meal, before the dance/speeches where the couple can sneak away 💋

Photographers, the couple, and your photo albums will be forever thankful. 💖🥂

✨ Invisibility ✨

you don’t see me shining cutlery as I set up your table. you don’t see me packing up your makeup, phone, and wallet and tucking into your exit car. you don’t see me bringing your parents beverages and checking in. you don’t see me spending hours and hours communicating with each vendor, making sure we are all on the same page.

I do not want you to.

My job is to ensure that you spend every minute of your wedding & time leading up to your wedding present, jovial, and blissfully unaware of all the behind the scenes.

I am here to make sure you are 100% enjoying, 0% stressing,

It’s engagement season!!! The holidays have happened, new years is around the corner. My feed is full of newly engaged couples and beautiful engagement rings (and I get to swoon over pretty jewellery) 💍

You’re engaged… now wedding planning time! Well do not hesitate to book your vendors. Venues & wedding planners are often your first to be booked. Most venues will be full for 2025 and books are opened/opening for 2026.

✨ pro budget tip: GST FREEZE ✨

Upcoming wedding couples for 2025/2026… there is a federal GST freeze on select goods and services from now until February 15, 2025.

What does this mean???

Save hundreds of dollars if you book your vendors in the next 2(ish) months or on purchased items. Buy decor, buy cases of wine…. whatever you can and SAVE $$!!!!

* the Canadian federal government has froze GST on all services and goods from December 14, 2024 - February 15, 2025. This was updated December 17th to specify products that qualify. *

Molly, what is your specialty?

Let me tell you! I do my best work when I am ALL IN. That being said, my favourite type of event to plan is when I am hired start to finish AKA full event/wedding planning!

Private property events usually require the most coordination and work, but often yield the most beautiful and personal events. These are my favourite. However, I feel incredibly blessed and excited to work at other stunning Okanagan venues all summer long.

✨ CONTINGENCY ✨

fun fact about me: I NEED a contingency plan. What are we gonna do if…

One of the many reasons to hire a wedding planner/day of coordinator. We are there to preemptively anticipate the unexpected & unlikely scenarios. Then if they happen we are already prepped and we can spring into action quickly.

Other things we had “just in case”: an extra gazebo, extra umbrellas, extra coffee, & heaters 🔥
