Shedding Skins & Embracing New Beginnings”

Nearly a decade ago, I met my son’s girlfriend—now his incredible wife and the mother of my precious new grandson. She was working at the Royal Ontario Museum, teaching kids about snakes, and naturally, I ended up with this beauty draped around my neck. That day, I knew she was the perfect match for my sweet scientist son.

Fast forward to today, and I’ve been lucky enough to not only welcome her into our family but also to officiate their wedding. And now, they’ve stepped into a whole new chapter—parenthood. Time flies, and looking at this photo, I realize just how many skins I’ve shed over the years. Life has a way of transforming us, one experience at a time.

2024 was a year of immense challenges, but like the snake, I’ve emerged from it renewed. 2025 feels like a fresh start, and I’m embracing it with open arms—ready for love, laughter, and new beginnings. I’m ready to gracefully shed old limitations and embrace new beginnings and emerge stronger and wiser with each challenge!

So many wedding couples have already been living together for an average of about 7 to 10 years before they decide to sign and seal the deal! Often they have homes they have bought together and a dog and kids too! They are already living a married life and legally have the same rights as common law partners so what is it that still makes them want to have a wedding and make it official in the old fashioned way ? I don’t rightly know but it’s always such fun to learn about their love story and help their wedding dreams come true!

In a world that often values perfection and order, I find solace in this wild little garden. My sweet friend Frederic planted it and then he took off for most of the summer travelling and let it go untended to do its thing! I was quite impressed and I insisted on having my photo taken in it because one , I am a poser from way back 😝and two 🌱 Like me, it's colorful, 🌸🌺🌻🥀🌼🌺untamed, and free to bloom in its own way. There's so much unexpected beauty in embracing the wildness within. I have not led a stress free life, that is for sure! Yet I am mostly at peace with letting life unfold without trying to control every detail. If you have some idea of what you want then plant the seeds and relax about it!
