The Kitchen at the Grist Mill is one of amenities available at the Grist Mill and Gardens Historic Site and serves up delicious soups, salads, sandwiches and other comfort foods inspired by the spectacular bounty and history of the Similkameen Valley. We use many fruits, veggies and herbs grown on the site as part of our project to research, preserve and share unusual or rare heritage varieties. O

ur kitchen is open for lunch daily from Victoria Day to Thanksgiving and serves Sunday Brunch in the fall and spring.

Lunch is served!

7 days a week, 11 until 2 come down to the Grist Mill and Gardens and try something fresh, local and delicious for lunch.

A twist on an old classic? Try our Grist Mill Grilled Cheese, layers of chutney, Cheddar and apples melted together!

Have a hearty bowl of homemade soup with Irish soda bread made daily.

Want something sweet? We've got you covered! Have a slice of cake and a cup of tea, try one of our famous carrot muffins or a classic vanilla scone.

Did you know we make fresh fruit syrup for our sodas? We've pineapple or rhubarb syrup available. We also have lavender lemonade, Earl Grey iced tea and Red Eye Coffee!

Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options available too!

Tonight was our first Sunday Dinner of the season, featuring braised lamb! Almost 40 people came out for a dinner that included lamb, garlic confit mashed potatoes, fresh asparagus and a green salad with lots of strawberries and edible flowers. A rhubarb pie with streusel topping helped complete a lovely meal under our new 40' event tent.

Our next dinner, in two weeks, is our always-popular 12 hour beef brisket. Folks have been signing up in anticipation of this one for months now, and it's going to be a heck of a crowd. There's still some space, though, if you're interested in join us...

For the eighth summer in a row, we’re bringing back our very popular series of Sunday evening dinners. Inspired by our own heritage gardens and the bounty of the spectacular Similkameen Valley, each of these special meals is served family-style on long tables in our lovely gardens, with entrees informed by our own fond memories of cozy Sunday dinners with family and close friends. Side dishes and dessert depend significantly on what’s fresh and in season.
