Every order will be placed into a draw on Tuesday, and one lucky customer will receive a full refund for their purchase. If you were planning to order a pretty centrepiece or hostess gift for Thanksgiving weekend, this is a great time to do it.

One of the most exciting parts of being a floral designer is that our medium changes throughout the year. As the seasons shift so do the varieties of blooms in our cooler. It keeps us inspired, excited, and keeps our designs fresh !

Late summer/ early fall is one of our favourite times of year for flowers. When you’re ordering a bouquet or arrangement from us this time of year you can expect to find varieties such as… Dahlias, zinnias, sunflowers, scabious, statice, marigolds, strawflower and loads of cool foliage and grasses.

September has to be one of my favourite times of the year for flowers. The colours, textures and varieties are a florist’s dream.

Two new autumnal ladies have hit the website this week. Introducing Ember and Goldie 🍂

Ember is a mix of fresh and dried florals done in our signature style. Loads of colour, texture and floral goodness!

Goldie is one of our favourite fall offerings. She’s a mix of fresh foliage (think oregonia, eucalyptus, rosemary…) and some dried elements for extra texture and a pop of fall colour. She is interesting and incredibly long lasting.

🍂 WREATH WORKSHOP 🍂

We get it, flowers are a luxury and you want to make sure that you get to enjoy them for as long as possible. Though part of their charm is their fleeting beauty, there are a few simple things you can do to prolong their vase life!

1️⃣ Unlike your potted plants, your cut flowers do NOT want to be in the sun! A warm, sunny environment is a sure fire way to shorten their life span, so keep those beautiful arrangements in a cool spot away from any windows.

2️⃣ Keep that water clean! Your goldfish doesn’t like living in murky waters and neither do your flowers. The bacteria that grows in the vase will prevent your blooms from reaching their full potential and will surely cause them to expire before their time. Change the water every 1-2 days, and trim the stems on an angle if possible. Clean water is key 🔑

3️⃣ Fruit + flowers = 🚫 As those bananas, apples and mangos ripen in your fruit bowl, they emit ethylene gas. When you expose your fresh cut flowers to a high level of ethylene gas it will speed up their “ripening” as well! Some of the biggest culprits are apples, bananas, tomatoes and avacados, so be sure to keep your arrangements a safe distance from these fruits to help prolong their vase life.

4️⃣ Clean your vases. A dirty vessel is a breeding ground for bacteria, so make sure to scrub your vases with soap and water between uses before you fill them with fresh water and florals!

5️⃣ We all know that some blooms naturally expire faster than others. Your carnations and ranunculus are always going to hold on longer than lilacs and hydrangeas, but removing spent blooms from your arrangement is a great way to keep those longer lasting blooms hanging on. Investing in a few smaller vessels or bud vases is a great way to make use of your flowers after the original arrangement has lost its fullness.

Well as sad as it is to say, this will be the final week for peonies, my friends.

That means it will be the last week to order your favourite Nora or Dina arrangements on our website, or to pick up a lush peony hand tied in our cooler.

Until September when our hours return to normal, we will be enjoying Sundays and every long weekend off… there’s gotta be perks to being the boss right? 🤣

“My name is Joanna and I am Registered Practical Nurse working as a Cosmetic Nurse Injector as well as in hospital with rehab and neurological patients. I’ve always had a passion for helping people and having a positive impact on others. On a more personal level, I love cosmetics, and consider myself a very creative person.

The cosmetic industry is what I truly feel passionate about, because it combines all of my nursing values and personal interests.

As an injector, I strive for natural yet impactful results. As a client of mine, I don’t want others to be able to spot out that you’ve had cosmetic treatments done. I want you to still look like yourself, however an enhanced version.

***SHOP HOURS***

Just a little update on our shop hours this week, folks. We are a little understaffed and over committed this weekend so we will be shortening our hours a wee bit.

We will be closing the shop at 3pm on Friday and will be closed all day Sunday. Our regular shop hours will resume next week. Thank you so much for patience and understanding ✌️

Join us in supporting in our annual fundraiser in memory of our littlest love, HARVEY 💕

On May 26, 2019 our tiny boy was born at 1.5lb and spent 2 months in the NICU before we lost him. The Ronald McDonald house was a home for our family during the most difficult time in our lives and we will be forever grateful for their support and community.

This year we are offering HARVEY jars and a portion of proceeds from each sale will be donated directly to The Ronald McDonald House in Toronto.

We will have these jars available in store and online Thursday through Sunday, so be sure to pop in for your floral fix and support an amazing cause.
