KNC is hiring two new kiosk attendants for the 2024-25 season!

We are looking for friendly and knowledgeable individuals with great people skills. Kiosk attendants are ambassadors for Nordic skiing in Kimberley and are typically the first point of contact for visitors.

Primary duties include selling tickets, memberships, and merchandise, renting ski gear, organizing ski lessons, cleaning the lodge, stocking wood bins and maintaining the fire in the lodge and the wax hut, and controlling traffic in the parking lot as needed.

We are thrilled to once again partner with Indy Pass, a pass that unites over 40 Nordic ski clubs across North America. As an Indy Pass holder, you receive two prepaid visits to each participating Nordic ski area.

As a KNC member, you have to option to add an "Indy AddOn Pass" to access 2 days at each partner club as a fraction of the price. Proof of KNC membership will be required at the time of purchase.

The ticket kiosk will be open 3 days in November for advance 2024-25 membership card collection and to assist new or returning members with in-person club registrations.

The kiosk will be open on the following dates;
❄November 9 from 12:00-4:00pm
❄November 17 from 10:00-2:00pm
❄November 30 from 10:00-2:00pm

Dates and times are subject to change if we receive significant early season snowfall. Keep doing those snow dances!

The Nordic Centre parking lot will be closed to all vehicle traffic tomorrow morning (Tuesday, October 29th).

As we prepare for winter snow clearing operations, we will be conducting much needed pothole repairs and parking lot regrading. We anticipate that this work will only take a few hours, and the parking lot will re-open in the early afternoon.

Join us for our third annual early-season Adult Ski Retreat!

This year's retreat will take place Friday December 13th- Sunday December 15th and is open to all ability levels. The weekend will include:

❄️Yoga

The Kimberley Nordic Club ski swap returns on Saturday, October 26th from 9:00-12:00pm!

This is a great opportunity to find low-cost Nordic ski gear before the season begins. There will be a wide variety of cross country skis, bindings, boots, poles, and winter gear for sale. The club will have ski coaches and gear experts on site to help buyers purchase gear that is appropriate for their needs. This year the club will be selling off dozens of lightly used children's SNS ski boots (10K - 5.5) from the program rental fleet.

Sellers can drop off their gear on Friday, October 25th from 4:00-7:00pm, then return on Saturday, October 26th from 12:30-1:30pm to pick up their cheques and/or unsold gear.

80% of each sale goes back to the seller, and 20% of each sale goes to KNC, which helps raise funds for an assortment of projects. This year, all money raised will be put towards the construction of the new welcome centre building, which is scheduled to begin construction in Spring 2025.

The Kimberley Nordic Club AGM will be taking place on Sunday, October 20th from 5:00 - 6:00pm. We will be conducting a power point presentation highlighting finance, project, and program updates from the last year. All club members are welcome to attend. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

The annual Fall Work Party will also be taking place from 3:00 - 5:00pm, leading into the AGM. This year we have a number of ski season preparations that need to be done, including painting, cleaning, tidying, minor building repairs, removing rocks from ski trails, and spreading the remaining wood chips.

The annual Track Attack coffee fundraiser is back! We are partnering with Kickturn Coffee Roasters once again to raise money for the program and offer amazing, locally roasted coffee to the community. All coffee bags ordered through the fundraiser even come with a custom KNC Track Attack label!

If you would like to order, please fill out the form and follow the payment instructions. 340g bags are $25 per bag, or $20 per bag if you order 5 or more. All orders and payments must be submitted by October 24th. Coffee will be available for pick up at KNC in November, just in time for the holidays!

We are excited to host the 2024 Kimberley Dryland Biathlon Camp on October 19th!

This camp is for all levels-beginners who just want to give biathlon-a-try to our seasoned competitive athletes. There is something for everyone!

We have rifles to suit all interests. Try our new ECO Aims camera based rifles to our Anschutz competition rifle. If you ever wanted to know what is involved in the sport of biathlon or needed to hone in on some previous biathlon or shooting skills, this camp is for you!

Our itinerary is packed full of learning:

1. Safety at the Biathlon Range
2. Components and Operation of a Biathlon Range
3. Introduction to a Biathlon Rifle
4. Learning the 5-Steps to Accurate Shooting
5. Challenge Event
6. Optional-Rifle Maintenance Session-learn how to maintain a rifle. (Please note this session is mandatory for all athletes who are renting a rifle for the 2024/25 season.)

Please note - Bring your own lunch for our 12:30-13:00 lunch break. Pre-registration is required.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped with our last wood chip spreading work party! They made a huge dent in our wood chip piles, tackling two truck loads in just under four hours.

We are hosting a second "summer" work party on Sunday, October 6th at 9:00am for one final push to spread the rest of the wood chips out on our trails to prepare them for winter.

We'll have music, snacks, hot dogs on the grill, and we would love for you to join us!

The annual Kimberley Community Fall Fair is quickly approaching!

Each year our youth programs help out with setup and takedown of this fun, annual event and it is a great fundraiser for our Junior Development program.

We hope to see you there!

We are less than two weeks away from the 2024 Kimberley Fall Fair at the Marysville Arena on September 21st and 22nd.

If you are interested in entering the Scarecrow Contest, Apple Pie Baking Contest or Pie eating contest - send us a message for more information/details. We are also excited to add a dunk tank with a few local celebrities who you can help to cool off.

We do have a few more spots if you are a vendor interested in getting a booth.

Our annual Nordic Ski Swap returns on Saturday, October 26!

We will be accepting all working condition Nordic ski and winter gear for consignment. Equipment must be dropped off at the lodge on the evening of October 25 before the event begins the following morning.

This is a great opportunity to buy pre-owned ski equipment at heavily discounted rates. The club will be selling dozens of pairs of children's SNS classic boots that are no longer used in our rental fleets.

Our summer work party is coming up this Saturday, September 7th from 9:00am-1:00pm!

The goal of this summer work party is to spread all of the remaining wood chips along the trail network in key sections that need resurfacing. Our summer trail crew gave a strong effort to spread as much as they could over the month of August, but there are still 3 large piles of chips that need to be spread before the snow flies.

We are still looking for as many volunteers, trucks, and trailers as we can get this weekend! Any help that can be provided is very much appreciated and will go a long way towards preparing our trails for another great ski season. Pizza and refreshments will be provided!
