Our totals are in! You helped us raise ⭐️$7469.63 ⭐️for the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation this year!!

Special thanks to our volunteers from the Cancer Foundation who walked along Santa’s side helping out , our hot chocolate hustlers from Erie North Shore U11 C hockey team who had amazing Team Soirit and split their donations with us ,neighbours Ashley Regehr-Incitti & Dan Incitti who welcomed a yard full of spectators all month long , E & L who allowed people to watch from their driveway any time , those kind & patient neighbours in nearby homes & streets who showed their support & Christmas spirit , Terry Edgerton for his amazing traffic directing skills , family members who helped hang lights and Jasmin Celine for her patience and help during this season — life gets put on hold for almost 3 months when Light Show season begins and she digs in and devotes many many hours to help make this show a success . She is a huge help to Colton who is our LightShow Master but she is his LightShow Queen.
And finally, thank you for the amazing outcry of support from you all- the messages & letters written, phone calls , words of support & appreciation was overwhelming. Colton created this show out of love and pours his heart into every second of every single show and he does it expecting nothing in return except to spread Christmas joy; and hopefully raise funds for a cause that is near and dear to most of us . His dedication is inspiring and he will choose Griswold over Grinches every time.🎄 ♥️ ♥️

‼️ RE: Town of Kingsville Council Meeting ‼️

I'd like to address certain inaccuracies that were presented during the recent discussions by the council that were left open for assumptions and also express some concerns about the final deliberation.

1. Councillor Lowrie referenced previous discussions about relocating the light show to Lakeside Park but omitted crucial factors discussed during those meetings, such as the potential risks of leaving equipment exposed to theft and vandalism, the absence of town resources or financial benefits. The proposal essentially boiled down to a straightforward move without considering the intricate setup of the show, its synchronization with the property, and the significant logistical and financial implications. I even proposed the idea of transforming the show into something akin to Jackson Park in Windsor but encountered reluctance due to financial constraints from the Town of Kingsville.

2. Additionally, I'd like to address Councillor Lowrie's mention of our “family's worth being $3 million”. This figure was in no means a “net worth” and was pulled completely out of context, but was a rough estimate I provided to the Mayor, outlining the potential budget required to transform Lakeside Park into a winter wonderland mimicking Jackson Park. It encompasses extensive infrastructure changes and planning, excluding the cost of hardware and time.

3. There were claims by several council members and the Mayor about receiving numerous supportive emails from local and out-of-town residents but none from neighbors. Contrary to this, I personally received and was forwarded seven emails from neighbors. However, the responses from Councillor Lowrie seemed standardized, lacking personalization, indicating a potential oversight in thoroughly reviewing these emails. Notably, it appeared that the council might not have identified these emails as originating from local neighbors, possibly due to ineffective resource allocation to determine which addresses fell within the neighborhood. This issue became apparent in subsequent discussions when we questioned the terminology 'close proximity,' and notably, none of the council members mentioned specific street names within the subdivision other than Marshwoods. Setting that aside, it's worth noting that two of the seven emails were indeed from neighbors residing on Marshwoods.

4. The assertion by Councillor Lowrie that mediation attempts were not pursued is misleading. Below is a section of Doug Williams’ deliberation that was made prior to this comment.

“The notion of unsuccessful mediation attempts is an inaccurate portrayal of history. Under previous administrations, including former Chief Building Officer Peter Valore, proactive mediation measures were undertaken. These efforts resulted in concrete adjustments, notably the removal of Wednesday shows and the exclusion of 9 pm shows from Sunday to Thursday. The two discontented neighbors were informed that this resolution was deemed fair and that no further mediation attempts would be pursued, as the extensive attention devoted to their grievances had significantly consumed administrative resources.”

During the recent council meeting, a decision was made to send out a letter to all residents in close proximity to the Williams Light Show to gather their opinions. However, I have some concerns:

1. The number of positive support comments received (83 emails) was mentioned and disclosed publicly, however the exact number of complaints was not addressed in a transparent manner during a public discussion.

2. While initially supportive of the motion to send out an anonymous letter, concerns arose about the definition of "close proximity" and the handling of "weighted responses," potentially excluding voices falling outside this defined area.

I appreciate the ongoing support received. The encouragement demonstrated at the council meeting was deeply appreciated. I encourage all community members, as directed by the council, to actively participate by sharing any further questions, comments, or concerns via email to [email protected]. Your input is invaluable in ensuring that our community discussions remain inclusive and comprehensive. Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in shaping the dialogue around this important matter.
