Last month I had the pleasure of MCing the Lacombe Fish and Game Association's Awards Gala!

Not only did we celebrate the achievements of local anglers and hunters, we raised funds for a playground upgrade at Len Thompson Fish Pond here in Lacombe.

(I also got to practice my animal calls during an impromptu 'Call of the Wild' game for dinner order.... apologies to those affected!)

Another AMAZING night in Town of Blackfalds with Blackfalds FCSS and others celebrating the Youth of the Community!

Happy to return to the red carpet and bask among the superstars of the Blackfalds Youth Recognition Night! As MC, it was stunning to help in the recognition of some of the most dedicated youth in Central Alberta!

Congratulations to all of the nominees and recipients in each of the Elementary, Junior and High School categories - your efforts in school, extra curriculars, sports, leadership, peer support, inclusion, generosity and goodwill truly make Blackfalds shine!

What an incredible night recognizing the 'Best of Blackfalds' with the Blackfalds FCSS and Town of Blackfalds Volunteer Appreciation Event!

It was my absolute pleasure to be back as MC and to acknowledge the hard working and dedicated volunteer individuals and groups who make tremendous contributions to their community.

A new award this year, the 'Voluntold of the Year' award in memory of Gary Kroetsch, recognizes the contributions of those who reluctantly, non-committedly, unofficially assist in volunteer efforts, and I'm confident many deserving 'voluntolds' will be recognized for years to come!

Absolutely blown away by Saving Grace Animal Society's first ever Ties & Tails Fundraising Gala!

What a pleasure to MC this incredible event for a dedicated group of animal lovers. Saving Grace is a loud and clear voice for animal welfare, and their supporters are among some of the most genuine, caring people in our province.

Special thanks to Warren & Kaedyn Wessel of Tundra Petroleum for boosting the SGAS Vet Clinic project with a $50,000.00 donation towards their next phase!

When you’ve got the gift of the gab and you sit on the Team Jigger board, some things just come together naturally!

Awesome to say a few words to those assembled for the Team Jigger Strides for AccessABILITY event today at the Lacombe Airport! It was all in support of my wheelchair buddy Jason ‘Jigger’ Lunn who left his chair to walk the 3,000 foot runway to raise funds and awareness and to promote accessibility and inclusion - way to go Jiggy!

Thanks to Blackfalds FCSS for having me MC the Youth Recognition Night complete with red carpet reception, live musicians, dancers, paparazzi, glitz, glam and of course the youth superstars of your community!

There's an impressive generation coming up through Blackfalds, and these future mentors, leaders, volunteers and role models should all be proud of their accomplishments - what a night!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it every year – there are only 365 (sometimes 366) squares to fill up on a calendar, and if you don’t properly plan your event, your marketing or your promotions, you could be in for a rough stretch!

Pencil in some time to read my LinkedIn article, and be sure to reach out for your MC or marketing consultant needs in 2023 – I’ve already started filling my squares!

The page turns, a new year dawns; January finds us refreshed and refocused. Most industries, with the possible exception of health and fitness, experience a lull in the first few weeks of the new year.

Events are popping up fast and furious as people seek reconnection with one another and a desire for familiarity and normalcy after a few years of cancellations, restructurings or pivots.

The answer, of course, is 'd' - and what fun I had as the guest auctioneer at the 16th Annual Junior Golf Foundation of Gull Lake's Pro-AM event at Gull Lake Golf Course AB!

A weekend full of golf, friendship and fundraising for one of the most vibrant junior golf programs in Central Alberta! Thank-you for the laughs! (And hat's off to ACTUAL auctioneers - it's a real skill!)
