The Aesthetic For This Wedding Was Blush Pinks With Accents Of White And Gold, So We Focused On Mini/Full Roses In Different Shades Of Blush Pink For The Focus, Used White Filler Flowers To Fill It In, And Used Our Special Floral Gold Spray To Make Golden Babies Breath! This Package Included Bouquets, Boutonnières, A Simple Flower Crown For The Flower Girl, And Table Garlands With A Touch Of Blush Pink Roses And White Filler Flowers. When Booking Your Wedding Florals With Us There Is Almost Nothing We Can’t Do, So If You Want It, Don’t Worry If We Can Do It Or Not Because We Can; All You Have To Do Is Ask!

It Seems You’ve Found Me Watering The Shop Plants, One Of My Favourite Things To Do! I Wanted To Officially Introduce Myself As You Don’t See My Face Here Often (Something I’m Working On lol), My Name Is McKie Oktober Dummitt, I Turn 24 In October, And I Am One Of The Official New Owners Along With My Mother Tina Dummitt.

I Started At The Flower Shop 4 Years Ago Doing Deliveries During Covid While Working On My 2 Year Event Planning Degree Online At Fanshawe College. I Originally Dreamed Of Being A Wedding Planner, But Once I Finished My Degree I Was Too In Love With Florals To Leave Them. Once Obtaining My Degree I Became The Wedding Floral Coordinator For The Shop, And Soon After I Was The Daily Operating Manager. After Two Years My Mother And I Were Given The Most Amazing Opportunity We’ve Ever Had, And That Was To Own The Flower Shop.💕

My Goal Is To Help Bring Smiles And Beauty To My Community Through Florals And Foliage, Whether It’s From A Small Plant For A Kitchen Counter, A Cheerful Arrangement To Help The Toughest Of Times Pass, Or A Full Wedding Package, We Are Equipped For It All! My Whole Life I’ve Prepared Myself For This Goal From Going To High School For A Visual Arts Program, Getting My Events Planning Degree, Learning From A Large Scale Of Different Professional Florist Through Out The Years, To My Never Ending Love For All Things Floral, I Know Not Even The Sky Is The Limit For What I Can Do. All I Can Say Is Thank You To This Beautiful Village That Raised Me And I’m Forever Grateful To All The Florists I Learned From And Especially For Believing In Me And Gifting Me One Of The Most Amazing Opportunities Of My Life, I Will Cherish This Little Flower Shop Forever.🤍

This Wedding Is A Very Special One For Me As It Was The First Wedding I Did As The Wedding Floral Consultant 2 Years Ago! It Was Also One Of The Biggest Weddings We’ve Done So Far As It Was Held At The Beautiful Iron Horse Ranch And We Filled It To The Top With Florals And Greenery. From Large Rose Toppers On Their Rustic Barrels Decorating The Outdoor Ceremony To The 9-30ft Garlands We Adorned All Of Their Vintage Reception Tables With! To Top Off The Garlands We Added Blue Thistle And White Wax Flower To Add Some Rustic Charm To Match The Rustic Elegant Beauty Of The Iron Horse Ranch.

This Wedding Was Held At And Photographed By The Very Talented . Our Amazing Bride Wanted All Florals With Little To No Greenery And All Pastels With An Emphasis On Light Blue Which We Used Locally Harvested Delphiniums For From .gardens! In Total We Made Bouquets, Boutonnières, Table Arrangements, And Bulk Flowers For Little Bud Vases On All The Tables. (Ask Us About Our Bulk As It Is So Inexpensive!) At The End Of The Day We Are So Proud Of How The Florals For This Wedding Turned Out, And We Thank The Bride For Choosing Us And Having A Beautiful Vision For Her Wedding As We Could Not Have Done This Without It! 💖

Every Wednesday We Will Be Posting A Past Wedding And Why Not Start With A Favourite Of Ours!

This Is Michelle And Phil’s Wedding Held At The Beautiful And Photographed By The Amazing . We Were Tasked With Creating Whimsical Florals Following A Late Summer/Early Fall Colour Scheme While Including Both Fresh And Dry Natural Botanicals. For The Fall And Dry Elements We Added Rustic Toned Pampas and Ostrich Feathers, And For The Summer Element We Focused On Fresh Delphiniums Picked Locally At .gardens!

In Addition To The Bouquets And Boutonnières We Also Did Bulk Botanicals To Be Able To Decorate The Venue As An Inexpensive Solution To Multiple Big Arrangements, This Included Packs Of Pampas Grass, Delphiniums, Dahlias, Eucalyptus, ect.

In The End We Couldn’t Be Happier With How The Florals For This Gorgeous Wedding Turned Out, And As Always We Thank The Beautiful Bride For Choosing Us As Her Florist, Thank You For Choosing Local 🤍🌸

How To Bring A Wilting Hydrangea ✨Back To Life✨
Hydrangeas Can Be Drama Queens When It Comes To Hydration (Me Too), As They Get A Lot Of Their Water Through Their Petals, So When They Wilt Quickly They Can Be Brought Back By Watering Their Petals. This Hydrangea Was Sad And Wilting (2nd & 4th photo) Until I Soaked Its Flower Head In A Bucket Of Water For 10 Minutes, And After It Dried It Completely Came Back! (1st & 3rd photo). So For The Longest Lasting Hydranges, Spray Their Petals With Water Daily, And If They Wilt Don’t Stress!

Happy Belated Mother’s Day To My Mom/Other Half Of Our Business, Tina Dummitt❤️

For the past 6 years my mom Tina Dummitt and I have been working at Lakefield Flowers And Gifts, and we have recently became the new owners! Over the last couple months my mom has been my rock when it comes to running the business and on top of that she also has been rocking her job at Charles’s Riverside Gardens by planting and growing every single day. She is the epitome of hard work and has been my biggest role model in life, I wish to one day reach her level of beauty and dedication. This Mother’s Day was our first one as business owners and it would not have been a success without her as Tina made 95% of the hundreds of vase arrangements we had this weekend on top of keeping track of all the customers and helpers we had, so if you got a stunning arrangement for Mother’s Day from us, odds are it was made by my mom Tina Dummitt.
