Hospitality ... it's a wonderful word which in its most primitive definition truly means Welcome.

What an honour it is to be a part of 165 years of Welcoming, guests, community, family and friends to Burleigh Falls.

We thank everyone who joined us over the last few days as we celebrated that spirit, we honour those who had the vision, tenacity and drive to start, continue and grow a true Grand Lady . May she continue to welcome all those through her doors for another 165 years.

Our # continues for the remainder of the year with a host of special events.

That's one hot day out there...
Which means the kitchen will be working in extreme conditions... so as much as we hate doing this it's just not feasible to keep them cooled down without a break

We will be open for dining until 230pm and then we will be shutting down the entire kitchen until 4pm, that way we can cool everyone down and start dinner refreshed.

We will have drinks available and some cool snacks.

Every once in awhile we get to put our "fancy" pants on and truly showcase the talents of our amazing team.

Today we we're honored to host a very special lunch for the The City of Peterborough and Peterborough County delegation with special guests Consul General Baxter Hunt and his spouse Deb Derrick.

I can't even express how proud I am of our team.
Short Notice they dug in and exceeded all of mine and our guests expectations.
Chef Tammy Dobratz Laroche , sourced an absolutely amazing local menu and our service team out did themselves - from readying the Inn, setting a beautiful room and plating a truly 5 star 🌟 menu.

Thank you, once again I'm so humbled to have the privilege of leading this outstanding team.

165 Year's a grand lady has stood the test of time on this island rock.
In 1857 Mr Holmes was granted the land to open the 1st lodge in 1859 to weary lumberman working their logs through the Lovesick Lake chute... since 1899 she's been welcoming travelers who have fallen in love with the magic of Burleigh Falls.

No Matter the storm she's stood tall and proud as a welcoming beacon to all.

Come celebrate with us on Saturday July 13th at our 165th Anniversary BBQ Dinner & Dance , Saturday July 13th featuring our house band led by Michelle Prins and Mike Graham.

As we continue our 165th Anniversary Celebration, we are honouring the past with some nostalgic events.

In years gone by, rural communities would gather to celebrate the changing seasons. Often these gatherings would be hosted in community churches and halls - growing up I was lucky enough to be privy to many of these special celebrations. One of my fondest memories was of our Annual Strawberry Supper, which would be hosted at our Little Board & Batten Church in the Hamlet of Eddystone. The Church Ladies (A.K.A Grandmothers, Aunts, Moms, Sisters and Children) would prepare a wonderful Meal right around the time of the Summer Solstice, when Berry picking was at its best. Our job as kids was picking, hauling and of course tasting the plump red berries, running around barefoot in the fields with stained hands and mouths... carefree and wild .. just the way it should be.

We welcome you to join us as we revisit and rekindle these fond memories, and we hope a sense of community ignites.
