We have been doing the fall clean up on the farm and I am delighted to see the plants that continue to send forth blossoms despite the challenging conditions they have been facing. Take these anemones for example. They will continue to bloom until frost ends their life cycle. They may be a little worse for wear (like I feel at this age) but they continue to give it their all and there is a lesson to be learned from them. Cutting them back is an exercise in patience but I know that I am tucking them in for the winter and they will be back! Like them, I will use the winter to restore, to reflect and to recharge my soul. I wish the same for you.
This fall is particularly emotional for me as I may not be here to experience the beauty that will be bursting forth in seasons to come depending on when the farm sells, but I know that first and foremost I am a steward of the garden, and of any piece of the earth on which I find myself, and will make it my mission to leave it in the healthiest condition I possibly can. And that brings me peace.

Come join us on December 7 at 2 pm when guest instructor @liana_majed , a talented artist and instructor, is at the farm to teach you how to create festive watercolour motifs so you can create one of a kind Christmas cards or gifts for your friends and family.
Liana had taught at Sage and Solace before and the class participants loved her and all went home with works of art that they were delighted with.

As a sustainable farm that actively practises regenerative farming, this movie and its message are very close to our hearts. This documentary profiles a hopeful and uplifting movement of farmers using alternative “regenerative” models of agriculture that could balance the climate and save our health, in the face of a dark web of money, power, and politics behind our broken food system.
