Chill vibes, candlelight for days, and those floor-to-ceiling windows pulling the outside in.

Black linens, tan chairs, simple blooms, and the softest candlelit glow filling every corner — proof that less really can feel like more. It wasn’t overdone, just real, beautiful, and exactly how the moment was meant to feel.

Already counting down the days until I’m back here this wedding season — and the next. 🤍

From the bold colors and stunning fashion to the high-energy dancing and playful games, the whole day was bursting with life and love.

We laughed (a lot), soaked in the energy, and even learned a thing or two about the beauty and meaning behind Nigerian wedding traditions. The guests danced their hearts out — and the joy in that room was everything.

Back at the UBC Boathouse today and honestly… it never gets old. The waterfront views? Still jaw-dropping. The golden hour glow? Absolute magic. The geese? Slightly judgy, but clearly invested in the love story 🙊

Every time I’m here, it feels like the perfect little escape. The light hits just right, the energy is so calm, and there’s just something about being by the water that makes everything feel even more special.

It’s finally here! Our 2025 wedding season officially starts tomorrow, and honestly, it’s wild how quickly it’s arrived. We’ve spent the last few months deep in our off-season — part planning mode, part recharge mode.

After a full and busy 2024, it felt good to take a breath, reflect, and give ourselves space to rest and reset. But now? We’re back, and of course, we’re ready to hit the ground running. 🏃🏻‍♀️

The first wedding of the year always brings its own kind of excitement. We’ve been double-checking timelines, charging all the electronics, prepping the big emergency kit, and getting every last detail in place. There’s a certain kind of rhythm to this work - and getting back into it feels a little like coming home. It’s also such a clear reminder of how much we love what we do. That behind-the-scenes buzz, the joy, the anticipation — it never gets old.

We can’t wait to celebrate with our couple tomorrow and officially get this season underway! ✨

Let’s talk first dances! ✨

It’s something that comes up a lot when I meet with my couples — it’s one of those questions that tends to linger: When should we do it? Do we have to do it at all?

Traditionally, they happen before the dance floor kicks off — a way to wrap up the formalities before the party begins. But guess what? There’s no rulebook here. It’s your wedding day, and we build a timeline that fits your vibe, your flow, and what feels right for you as a couple.

There’s no right or wrong time for that special first dance moment — just the one that fits naturally into the day. Here are a few ideas we’ve seen and loved:

• During cocktail hour for a more relaxed, intimate vibe
• Right after your grand entrance to kick things off with a special moment (also to get it out of the way for some couples — and hey, no shame in that!)
• After sunset photos to flow right into the evening celebrations
• As a private moment before guests enter the reception
• After speeches and dessert to lead into the final structured moments before the dance floor opens up

And remember: your first dance doesn’t have to be a full song. A verse and a chorus or two is more than enough to soak in the moment and get some beautiful shots with your photographer.

Not sure if it’s something you want to do? No pressure. As long as we have a song picked and your DJ is in the loop, we can add it in if it feels like something you’d like to do on the day of — when the timing feels right.

Life has been a whirlwind lately — between getting some traveling in, day-to-day life, shifting priorities, and gearing up for the start of our very packed wedding season, socials have definitely been a little quieter. 🙈

But things have been full steam ahead behind the scenes at Amanda Marie Events! We’ve been working on timelines, final details, and everything that goes into making sure our couples have the smoothest, most magical day possible. 🥰

This moody, rainy weather has me thinking about M&K’s incredible wedding day at American Creek Lodge last June. Some couples might worry about a little rain, but these two embraced it, and honestly? It only made their day feel even more magical. The mist rolling through the trees, the soft drizzle during some portraits - it was the kind of romantic, Pacific Northwest vibe you’d dream of. ✨

And speaking of trees, let’s talk about K! As an arborist, he spends his days high up in the branches, so it was only fitting that their wedding featured nods to his love for the outdoors. From the place cards and special cake with a chain saw to the breathtaking forest backdrop, every detail felt connected to their story. Meanwhile, M brought all the energy and joy you’d expect from someone with a passion for zumba, kicking off the party with some group Zumba lead dances! Watching guests jump in and follow along was such a fun, unexpected moment that had everyone smiling.

Beyond that, their day was filled with little surprises that made it uniquely theirs - hidden details that reflected who they are as a couple. One of the sweetest moments? Their dog playing a special role in the ceremony! Seeing their furry best friend go down the aisle, tail wagging, was the perfect personal touch, and you could just feel how much love this little pup is surrounded by.

It was the perfect mix of heartfelt and fun, and I still can’t get over how much joy and love filled the day. Rain or shine, M&K’s wedding was one for the books! 🤍

Who doesn't love a good charcuterie spread?! It's a perfect way to enjoy cocktail hour! Guests can indulge in a variety of delicious bites while sipping on signature drinks and mingling in a relaxed setting before the reception begins.

It’s also a great opportunity for the couple to soak in the atmosphere and connect with loved ones. After finishing up their portraits, many couples choose to join the tail end of cocktail hour—sharing a toast, greeting guests, and getting a moment to enjoy the festivities.

Under the towering trees and breathtaking views of Manning Park, C & F shared a truly magical moment at Lightning Lake. With the waters as their backdrop and the beauty of nature surrounding them, their ceremony was filled with love, laughter, and the perfect touch of adventure.

After the vows, the celebration continued with an unforgettable reception - heartfelt speeches that had everyone in tears (and stitches!), bouquet toss that had everyone up and a dance party that kept the energy high all night long. A perfect day that truly had it all—romance, joy, and endless fun! ✨
