First of the season yesterday.
An intimate al fresco lunch, followed by dancing in the field and a sharing circle. The day was magic.

Vintage + Jardin = two of our favourites.

We have the pleasure of growing flowers + sourcing vintage vessels for events this year.
Along with baby's breath, we are also growing delicate white varieties of cosmos, sweet peas, sunflowers, gomphrena, mignonette, scabiosa, and of course, Queen Anne's lace.

The seedlings have started. We wait to plant in the ground in June here in the Laurentians.

How it all began with us.
When we moved here (during the pandemic), we began to grow + forage + experiment.

1. Thé du Jardin - a loose leaf blend of wild red raspberry leaf, organic chamomile and bergamot.
2. Herbes de Provence - a delicious herb blend made in our jardin.
3. Sirop d'Érable - tapped from this year's sugar maples.

These goodies are being sent to a couple celebrating their special day with us this summer. They will hopefully select one (or more) as a takeaway present for their guests.

Welcoming Intimate Affairs to Laurentian House.

A different concept than renting the property for the day, it is a chosen space for a set time, with minimal setup and takedown, and à la carte pricing.

For events up to 25 guests- private suppers, lunch with friends, and low-key affairs are all welcome.

B-I-G Ideas such as music festivals, art walks, biathlon circuits, even rare car auctions are all appreciated with us.
We can indulge hundreds (if not thousands) of guests on our private property.

The "Backup Plan"

The Main Barn is the "in case" space we suggest for those who want the "in the fields" dinner, in case of inclement weather.

The space can host a dinner for 60, cocktails for 85, and as a new client suggested, a dance party late in the evening.

With us, you have options.

The workshop that began it all is this Sunday afternoon. I remember suggesting this idea last year to my partner/husband/groundskeeper, Mat.

Foraging from our own private forest, teaching friends and neighbours how we can create beauty with our own hands.

It is the first impression on your front door, and it's a story to share.

Our latest collection begins-
demijohn, dame jeanne, carboy.

From clear glass to green and amber, woven or metal baskets to protect them. They are grande in size and delicate aesthetically.

We are in search of more to add.

To visit and brainstorm with you in person is much better than the computer.

While autumn is beginning to fade here, the weather is still beautiful for a visit for prospective events of 2024.

Although, we have and still will shovel in snowstorms in the middle of winter to tour clients.

Bibliothèque/Library-

We display our appreciation of craft + culture at Laurentian House.

Much of our spaces are filled with artifacts, tchotchkes, textiles, and art that interest us.

Our library is full of books too. From our studies in art and design, to plants and gardening, there is a book for anyone with a curiosity.

We share our passions with Laurentian House guests.

The Whisky Bar.

One of the spaces we offer now at Laurentian House. It's for live music and lounging late night, but also very cool for a dinner of 30 guests. It's moody and fun.

The barn is as original and authentic as possible.

When you book an event with us at Laurentian House, you have access to all the spaces we offer, including The Whisky Bar.

Autumn colours, textures, and pumpkins (grown by us). Our mountain is at its peak from the end of September until Thanksgiving.

A harvest dinner or autumn wedding would be spectacular with us. A visit to the Laurentians will not disappoint either.

The first of summer's wild berries at Laurentian House .
We also enjoy foraging raspberries, blackberries, and best of all, wild blueberries.

A Neutral Palette.
Yesterday we planted over two hundred flower seedlings to surround the barns. All white varieties- cosmos, baby's breath, and white sunflowers. We will also transplant Queen Anne's Lace in the upcoming weeks.

Summer Wild Foraging + Dinner Series at Laurentian House

We patiently wait to plant at Laurentian House. From flowers to herbs, and heirloom vegetables, we wait until the beginning of June. Frost can, and has occured here this time of year. We have, in the past, even laid blankets over seedlings overnight to keep them safe.
In the meantime, the plants enjoy the porch during the daytime and come back inside to sleep at night.
