Why does this picture make me want to cry?! 🫣🥲

I found this picture a little while ago. It's of my grandparents on my dad's side. I never got to meet them as they had both passed before I was born.

But I feel a sense that they would have been proud of my little farm!

Apparently, they loved flowers and always tended to a fairly large garden. Then, through this picture, I discovered that it was actually a garden filled with dahlias and other flowers. I feel a sense of connection and reason for my love of dahlias and flowers in general. 🥰

How I wish I could have met them! ❤️

Digging dahlias! Golly, this job is so much harder, at almost 8 months pregnant, than I anticipated 🙃😬 it's been so much slower this year because I get so physically exhausted. I've been really questioning, are they worth it?
Good thing I took lots of pictures to remind myself of their incredible beauty, and I know I'll be grateful next season.
Roughly 500 dug and about 300 to go. Hopefully, the weather stays decent!

I'm limiting what I plant next year since I'll have a new born, who would be interested to buy tubers to plant in your own gardens?

I've done a handful of special orders lately, and they truly fill my heart with incredible joy!

I love custom orders! They really let me express colors/vibes for specific situations ❤️ I'm also able to pray more specifically over the receiver.

I pray over every bouquet that leaves my little farm, and it brings me such joy and honor that God poured this passion into my heart.

I'm not only growing flowers around here! 💗🤰

I know I've been away from this account for quite a while, but there is good reason! We are expecting baby #3!

My first trimester has been rough, so the farm/business had to take the back burner for a bit as I hardly kept up with day to day life. Apparently, growing a human is hard work, and you're tired all the time 😆

I'm starting to feel better and plan to continue to keep up with sharing content and stand information more consistently now.

That being said, the fields are looking good, and soon, the stand will be stocked again.

Tulip season is upon us. I always feel tulips are so underrated, especially as cut flowers. But when you buy locally grown tulips, they are bigger, different varieties and colors you won't find at the grocery store. They truly put on a show!

RIP Ms. Frizzle 🥺

My favorite chicken died today, and I'm really quite sad about it. I know she's just a chicken/farm animal, and often, we raise them for food, so it's important for me not to get to attached, but she was my favorite.
I got her as a chick last year, and I knew she would be a favorite. All her feathers curved backward, so she was supper puffy and frizzy. She was also super friendly and easily let the kids hold her and never pecked at us.

My word of the year is INTENTION. Intentional action if I'm being specific.

This intention will overflow into my business as well, as I focus on making better, more logical decisions on how I manage the farm.

For me, this looks like scaling down and eliminating a lot of different varieties and really honing on specific ones. And actually keeping track of numbers.
This will allow me to not feel overwhelmed, and I'll still be able to focus and spend the majority of my time with my littles (2&4 so they still need the majority of my attention)

I'm so looking forward to what this year will bring and the beauty I'll get to share!

I love fall! ❤️ As long as I can remember, even when I was young, it's always been my favorite season.

Unflattering post 😬😅 but tis the reality of flower farming. There's a lot more days of hard work and mud than the usual pretty flower posts. But this is reality. I am thrilled to announce I'm officially done digging! Although there is still a lot more work to do, now that they're out of the ground and in storage, I get to focus on baby prep 🤗🙌 I will be posting dahlia tuber varieties I'll have available in the spring, in the nearish future. As well as next year's subscriptions, which will be available to purchase before Christmas 🎄 They make an amazing gift that keeps giving for months to come! Stay tuned!

These beautiful ruffles will soon show their faces 😍 Last year, this was the only bloom that survived, and boy, was she gorgeous! Being only in my 2nd official year, I'm still in my trial and error phase 🤷‍♀️ Last year was an error year for ranunculus, to say the least, hahaha 🤦‍♀️ I have learned so much since then! And I'm convinced that this year will be fabulous for these ruffled beauties ❤️
