Wedding season is fast approaching! I’m booking up. If you’re still needing help with decor, planning, I can see what I can do for you! I would also like to thank the many brides who have trusted me over the years! Also a shout out the fun venue owners, floral friends, caterers, photographers, videographers, bakers, and my great helpers who help me make things just right! It’s great to be a part of a big team on your big day. Also a big thanks to my husband Peter who sacrifices most of the garage and some rooms in our home for my “wedding stuff”.

The end of October I helped my cousin with a baby shower for her daughter. This was the set up before all the beautiful food was put out! I love fall decor, the different coloured pumpkins, and we had a lot of those! So fun!

Late July-beginning of August I got a call from a friend, asking if I could help her with a casket spray for her father-in-law. They just wanted flowers from a garden and have it look like an arrangement more than a casket spray. He was an avid gardener with his wife and they love flowers. I was able to gather florals from and I met the family at the church and arranged them in the kitchen. This might sound morbid, but I’ve told my kids when I die, I want to have whatever is in season be used. Summer fresh garden flowers, winter evergreen boughs. And wrap me in one of my quilts in a pine box. It was a great honour to help this man I didn’t know full fill his wish for the same.

August 26 I did a fun open house for Brooklyn Heggie at her aunt and uncles acreage. They were married the day before in Calgary. I was able to set up the arch ahead of time using my fake greenery and at the last minute add in the real florals. It was a hot day, so having each floral with a water pick helped keep them looking fresh. Thanks Brooklyn and Dusty Heggie for letting me help you with this open house. Thanks Carol for being such an awesome hostess. And Hunter Heggie for letting this party invade your man cave.

While I was doing Hannah’s wedding my friend Michele was doing a wedding in Waterton at the on that very Monday June 5th. The WPCA was hosting a Seniors luncheon for all the Senior Leaseholders in the Waterton Village. They asked me to help decorate it. So Michele and I collaborated. She left the amazing floral arch she had made for her wedding and some of the florals from other arrangements and I brought some of the florals from Hannah’s wedding. To be able to reuse fresh florals is what I love to do. They were two different colour palettes, but I was able to make it work. The peonies on the arch were absolutely stunning! And then the light from the windows shone through to illuminate the petals 😍. It’s always a great day when the back seat of my truck is full of fresh florals. After this event I remade the arrangements and made a few deliveries.

Photo dump ahead! My summer was one for my history book, not at all how it was planned. This morning I realized I’d not posted a few of the fabulous weddings I’d done. .p.williams is one of my favourite people. I’ve known her, her whole life. So it was such an honour to be a part of her big day. It was June 3, with the party created a photo wall of all Hannah and Reggie’s ancestors, 4 generations of wedding photos! ❤️❤️❤️. The red chairs in the front were a nod to the couples love of Waterton. My friend .annemarie.art painted a beautiful picture of the Cardston temple (where the couple was married) with the mountains in the backdrop, it is perfect for these two who live both the temple and the mountains! Thanks Hannah for letting me be a big part of your day!

Thanks .photograph for sharing these photos with me, I was so busy I didn’t get any pictures before the room was full of people. Table numbers had pictures of the bride and groom at the age of the number, loved that! The brides Dad officiated the ceremony! It was the rainiest day we’d had in months. But that did not change the plan to do the ceremony outside at the grooms Moms beautiful acreage. My friend did an amazing job on the florals, in the rain, then I transported them to the U of L and reworked them for the reception. Thank you Millers for a great wedding day/party! Prime catering did a fantastic job, I was also a guest, so enjoyed the meal. The venue is the U of L Science Commons building, it’s a beautiful space, did I walk over 17 km that day? Why yes, yes I did. Did I look like a drowned rat at the party, yup. Worth it, yes.

Happy Canada Day! It’s a day late but I was lazy yesterday after putting on this event Friday at the Waterton Community Centre. I have a great team, and they are the reason I do this event! Thanks so much to Elaine Leishman, Joan Steed, Teyonna Paxman and the staff from the WCC, they are the best! To all the family members of these ladies, that chipped in and helped, the WPCA Board members who also helped. To our volunteers from the community who stepped in to help serve food, and decorate. Archie gets the crowd dancing. for sparkling up the kiddos with tattoos. from Lethbridge the kids had a blast! for hosting me all weekend! Thank you, thank you thank you!! To my family for all your support!

Fall is in the air in Waterton. I had the honour of Planning and decorated an appreciation dinner for some out going members on the Waterton Park Community Association. Many wonderful people gave years of voluntary service in Waterton.

It was fun planning this wedding with . She’s super chill and so fun. We made many last minute decisions to make this outdoor wedding happen! Weather in Southern Alberta is tricky when making these plans, so being chill is a must. Her whole family worked hard all summer to make this happen! Thanks for trusting me

July 9th a special wedding for our nephew! So when you’re the decorator and a guest, and it’s hot outside and there’s a time crunch…you don’t get as many pictures as you hoped for! But it was my pleasure to be involved for and .thomson backyard party. Just need to point out the fabulous birch strip canoe that belongs to the grooms parent. We used it for gifts. It was also the perfect wild flower season!

First Wedding of the 2022 season happened last weekend. In Southern Alberta you can never really depend on the weather to cooperate, especially the WIND. So this was supposed to be outdoors in a very cute structure but was moved into the plan B church, which turned out very lovely. Nothing and no one ended up in Saskatchewan. I appreciate all those who helped and adapted to the plan B venue.

Hello! It’s been awhile. The 2022 wedding season has begun! Yes, there are egg cartons beside these bridesmaids bouquets. I’m keeping it real over here. I love “Pinterest styled” pictures. But I’m aiming for being more real this year. Because let’s face it. The Pinterest world isn’t real. I had a client say to me, “I know that Pinterest isn’t usually real life. I was looking for someone local that I liked what they did, and I love what you do”. Why, thank you! But it was followed up with, “I trust you, do what you think will look best”. I love being creative, I actually thrive on it. So when I hear those words “I trust you” I will bend over backwards to make your dreams come true. But please don’t undervalue my creativity, time, and knowledge. Thanks to my many friends in this world. And all the wonderful brides I’ve worked with over the years.

And this was my last wedding of 2021! tied the knot December 17. Due to scheduling difficulties we used two locations. I couldn’t have pulled this one off without my friends Jen Hendry and Michelle Po***ck who last minute (at the busiest time of year) came to my rescue on a couple of very cold days.

I’m so excited to finally get to decorate your awesome space! I love the exposed brick, the random windows, the different colours, the wood floors, the chippy linoleum…I love it all. The fun furniture is a mix of the bride and grooms families and mine. Fun day of decorating with and family!

I LOVE FALL! I love decorating in the fall! This weekends wedding gave me my fall fix! And our willow tree needing trimming, and who doesn’t bring a bag of beautiful fall leafs to spread around? Thanks for picking the perfect fall colours!

Jewel tone wedding. What a perfect colour scheme this time of year. All but the roses, carbs and the greenery came from or my own flower garden. This bride loves crystals and jewels. So that’s how we decided to do jewel tones for her florals. I had fun designing this cascading bouquet, the gold hoops instead of bouquets for the bridesmaids. The arch for the wedding ceremony really popped with all those fun colours!

What a difference 1 week can make! Same venue (The Balderson Barn) different vibe. Cooler weather and a bit rainy moved the ceremony inside. But how cute is the loft in this barn??? I love the main floor too with its huge fir floor planks. Okay, it’s no secret I love the whole Barn, inside and out!
Thanks again to my friends Jen and Michelle for helping me with the florals again this week! So happy for and what an awesome couple! PS the bride made the cake!! So cute!! More pics to follow

Another wedding for the books! So fun to decorate again! The brides mom said, all wanted was to have it in a old barn wearing a beautiful dress. And her dreams came true. I’ll have to add another post of the bride in her beautiful dress. Thanks to my friends Jen and Michelle for helping me with the flowers! Despite the heat 🥵 and dry wind the flower arch survived the evening. Thanks also to .rentals and the father of the bride for getting a swamp cooler. If you’re a bride who’s dream is an old barn and a beautiful dress, I highly recommend Tammy and Danny Balderson work so hard to make their property look fabulous and your experience perfect. I’ll be back…actually next week😂

Let’s call this wedding, The Windy Wedding. I mean, SAB is known for its windy. But with not much wind all summer, I think we forgot about it. Good thing the father of the bride came up with some great anchors for the “sail boat” like backdrop. I was able to make two bouquets for the bride for this wedding. One for pictures on Thursday (my daughter was my helper) and another one for today’s events! Thanks to my friends Jen and Michelle for supplying the flowers. I was even able to add some Queen Anne’s lace from my garden. Happy wedding .orr

So excited with the announcement from the Alberta Govt yesterday! Things are going to open up! So here are some new projects I’ve been working on/acquiring to add to my inventory. 1) wood archway. Can be decorated in so many ways. 2) gold hoop on a stand, again so many possibilities 3) 6 fabulous ceramic light blue vases. 4) a antique French riddling wine rack, I see so many possibilities with this (mostly with flowers). So here’s to a happy wedding season!
