M&C’s big day is just 2 days away!

Here’s what I do this week as their Day of Coordinator:

- Meet with Bride and Groom to finalize the schedule

- Send timeline to wedding party and parents to make sure they have an idea of what to expect

- Rehearsal (This will help the wedding party work out any kinks before the day of the wedding )

- Make care package for happy couple

- Pack my Day Of bag- water , extra shoes, snacks, bandaids, Tylenol, safety pins etc.

- DAY OF COORDINATION- organize vendors. Set up decor, and make sure the day goes off without a hitch.

- Help with any last minute details they need taken care of

I get it. Wedding dress shopping is one of the most exciting parts of the wedding planning process, but trust me when I say, don’t rush this process

So much can change during the months leading up to your wedding and visions change. Wedding dresses can be very costly so jumping on one of the first dresses you try on might not always be the best idea.

(I was the bride that bought one of the first dresses I tried on and 6 weeks before my wedding I changed my mind 🙃)

Saying Yes to the dress is an unforgettable experience so savour it, try on different styles, go out of your comfort zone. You might just surprise yourself 🤷🏻‍♀️!

You don’t have to wear white.
You don’t have to have a wedding party
You don’t have to have cake or wedding favours
You don’t have to do anything that doesn’t feel right to you!

Wedding planning is stressful enough - trying to follow traditions that don’t feel authentic to you, will only make you feel more overwhelmed!

A Day late , but here’s another Tuesday Tip for planning your wedding!
🖤 Remember Your Guests 🖤

Now , this is not to say plan your whole wedding around your guests, but, it’s important to be mindful of the people who will be in attendance at your wedding

- is the bathroom accessible for all your guests?
- do they have something to do during wedding photos I.e cocktail hour, lawn activities etc. ?
- what music are you playing?
- are there a lot of stairs for guests ?
- are there accommodation options for traveling guests?
- if you’re having a winter wedding, how many out of town guests will be affected by potential weather?

These are just a few things to keep in mind during your wedding planning process!

I am officially 365 days away from saying I Do , to my favourite human.

So many wedding are being rescheduled to next year so I made sure to research and book my favourite vendors before it was too late!
What have I done so far !
✨ Booked my venue
✨ chosen my vendors - DJ, florist, make up, hair etc
✨ booked my rehearsal and menu tastings
✨purchased all my wedding decor
✨ ordered my wedding cake and desserts
✨bought my gown🥰🥰
✨ made our guest list and 2 back up lists (so there is no curve ball if Covid restrictions are still in place )
✨started working out all the tiny details , so the next year can be as stress free as possible!
✨chosen our ceremony readings
✨got all my wedding party and our MC
And a lot more , but I can’t give away too much 😉

Well folks, looks like this is our last Winter Wedding Wednesday !!

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again.... where is this year going !? As we approach December we will have something a little different to replace our Wedding Wednesday (stay tuned for that ) so this is our last Winter Wedding Wednesday !

❄️I present to you, the top trends for 2020 and 2021 Winter weddings! ❄️

❄️ Decorate with Lights- have you ever noticed how warm , and intimate winter weddings feel? Well , that’s thanks to the beautiful ambiance created with the decor ( and the fact it’s a wedding, of course)! The use of lights at your winter wedding , is not only beautiful, but it’s an easy way to create that desired romantic look! Whether you opt for the hanging lights display, or just add a touch to your centrepieces, you’re sure to be right on trend to a gorgeous evening !

❄️ Coffee or Hot Chocolate Bar at the wedding- if you haven’t noticed yet, I think this is such an amazing idea! So often when planning weddings we are on overdrive trying to make sure every detail is taken care of, and sometimes we leave out some of the most important people! The winter is cold, so giving your guests a nice hot drink at the ceremony keeps them warm while they wait, and , it’s different. This thoughtful touch , is super cute, super simple , and totally on trend for your upcoming wedding !!

❄️ Wood Decor- the use of natural decor at a winter wedding is such a mood setter for the evening. Unless of course you’re going for glitz and glam, you may want to refrain from adding this touch 🤷🏻‍♀️. Not only is this super on trend for a winter wedding, but it’s sooo budget friendly! This natural decor is sure to give your guest that nostalgic winter feel!

❄️ The Cake, but make it Wintery- the cake, more often than not, is a focal point somewhere in your venue, so to help with that complete winter feel, couples have gone with a winter inspired cake. From pine cones, to snowflakes to white birch looking cakes, these cakes look and tastes stunning. Let’s be honest who doesn’t love cake !? ( my brother ... I know, he’s weird )

Happy Winter Wedding Wednesday !
It’s been a crazy few weeks for me so today’s segment will be short , sweet and to the point ,

Here are 10 reasons to have a winter wedding !

❄️ Less Stress- yes, there is the possibility of a storm, and we totally get that, but, if you’re having a winter wedding, than you’re already expecting snow, so you’re eliminating the stress of a last minute rain storm turning your outdoor wedding into a frantic last minute change of plans !

❄️ More Dates and Better Rates - it is less common for weddings to take place during the cool months , which makes it that much easier to get the date you want! Did we mention venues usually charge less for off season weddings ?? Who doesn’t love savings !?!?

❄️More accommodations - needing a place for your guests to stay is easier in the winter months , since there are less weddings taking place !!

❄️ Free or cheaper decorations - using the
decorations the venue already has up, or the stunning backdrop of the snow ⛄️ allows you to save some money on decor 👍🏻

❄️ Perfect Black Tie Setting- my favourite thing about a winter wedding is how formal they are. Outdoor weddings tend to be more casual, but when you pair the season, and the weather, you have the recipe for a gorgeous black tie wedding!

❄️ You eliminate Cake face ! Hot weather and make up can lead to a disaster! Winter weddings eliminate that problem ( with the exception of a potential runny nose, and a few tears) your makeup will remain perfect all night!

❄️ Stunning Wedding Photos - this is self explanatory- winter wedding photos are so beautiful

❄️ Better for your guests- having an off season wedding means your guest won’t have other weddings to attend so most of them will be able to make it !

❄️ The colour pallet - the dark colours with the snowy backdrop might just be my favourite thing about a winter wedding!

❄️ The warmth of Comfort Food - being able to cozy up with a soup and some late night poutine , is something unique to winter weddings , as summer weddings tend to be accommodated with lighter foods that help with beating the heat !

Now if only we could get some snow!

I am so ready for the season of celebrating, giving, and loving. So yes, our house is decorated and ready to bring joy to the world!
The reality is Christmas just won’t be the same this year, and that’s okay !! We will make the best of what we have , so we started with decorating and cranking the volume on the Michael Bublé Holiday album 🤷🏻‍♀️!

Picture this, a fresh snow fall, the sun glistening behind you, the smell of pine in the air, and the love of your life waiting at the end of the aisle!?
sounds beautiful right !? So if you’re like me, and you can’t wait to marry your hunny, and be with all your favourite people on a gorgeous winters eve, than this post is for you !!
❄️Here are the things to remember when planning a winter wedding ❄️

❄️ Keep your wedding and reception at 1 venue - eliminating as much travel as possible is essential during the winter months!

❄️ Give you and your guests time ! - not only is traffic slow in the winter, but there could be unexpected weather !

❄️ keep your wedding party warm ( especially if you’re braving an outdoor wedding - blanket scarves , jackets even if it’s just for pictures!

❄️ BOOK A ROOM THE NIGHT BEFORE! Please follow this advice if you’re wedding is in a different town, or if you have a lot of out of town guests. Giving yourself, yourself and your guests the option to come the night before will save anyone from not making your wedding due to an unexpected storm 👌🏻
❄️ Keep your guest warm with a hot drink upon arrival - they will remember this I promise !

❄️ Ditch the Heels- I know they’re beautiful, but do you really want to fall in front of your guest 🤷🏻‍♀️ no !! Fashionable flats are totally perfect !

❄️ Deep colour pallets - these contrast against the snow and just look so stunning !

It’s our last Wicked Wednesday , which means , my pretties , that it is almost 👻Halloween👻

This year , has given us a lot to think about when it comes to holidays , and this is no exception to that , so how , my frightful friends, can we still celebrate this wicked evening while staying safe ?
Let me tell you :

👻Netflix Party- Scary Movie Night - If you haven’t used Netflix party, this would be the perfect time to do so! Connect with your friends, and watch your favourite scary flick, you can be together while staying apart !

👻 Halloween Spooky cocktails- (This one I may or may not dive into this Saturday ) find a recipe for a Halloween themed cocktail ( or mock- tail for the children) and try your hand at being your own bartender for the evening!

👻wear your costume- just because you can’t go out , doesn’t mean you can’t dress up, Chanel your inner child by dressing up and forgetting about your adult duties for the evening !

👻 Decorate your house - seriously , keep your spirits up, decorate the house, enjoy the time, let go of stress. Just have fun !

👻Crank up tour Halloween Playlist and monster mash the night away !

👻 HOCUS POCUS DRINKING GAME! This can be found on google and it is a great way to get this ghostly BOOze

👻 Monster Eyes - white powdered donuts. Topped with a gummy candy and a chocolate chip - viola

👻 Vegetable skeleton - plate you’re veggies and dip in the shape of a skeleton for a subtle Halloween touch ! Guests will love this!

👻 Scary Skewers - using an icing pen, decorate some marshmallows to look like ghosts. Add your favourite fruits and this delicious delight is ready for a frightful night!!

👻 S’monsters - you must have noticed , I love marshmallows 😋 but more than that , I love s’mores , so this is one I just love 🥰! Enjoy your treat with a scary touch but adding some eyes and there you have it !

🎃 Make your visit fun by awarding the best mask!

🎃 Keep your outdoor visits cozy with some cider, and a fire !

🎃 Make sure you have lots of sanitizer

🎃 Have the host create seating charts that keep the same households at the same tables so you aren’t crossing bubbles !

🎃 Virtual Dinner- but with a twist - yes we all love our turkey dinners, but this idea, I just love. Select any country from around the world and everyone joining your dinner makes a dish from that country and you can share recipes with each other while indulging in a delicious virtual meal!

🎃 Bake your favourite treats and do a bake exchange with your family/ friends- the catch with this is that you secretly drop them off and every participating party has to guess who baked what !

🎃 outdoor pumpkin carving contests - set up individual tables and tools for each participant and see who can carve the best pumpkin !

🎃 have a virtual Cook- a- long ! ( I love this idea) select a host , and cook along with them without having to leave the comfort of your home !!

It’s October First ..... you know what that means !
It’s officially SPOOKY SEASON!!!!

If you know me, you know that I absolutely LOVE halloween. If you don’t know me , well, now you know that I LOVE Halloween 🎃!
This is one of my top 2 favourite seasons and so for the month of October we are going to ditch our Wedding Wednesday and replace it with
🎃WICKED WEDNESDAY 🎃

Here will we cover the ultimate Halloween / Costume Party Tips , and some Thanksgiving dinner ideas too!

Some will be generic and some will be all about how to safely accommodate this year’s circumstances through virtual parties , or micro gatherings !

Okay wedding couples, I’m sure between scheduling , rescheduling , calling vendors, picking flowers, etc your days can be hectic. The planning and ex*****on process of the wedding can be a lot. (This is where a wedding planner comes in handy 😉) I will be the first to tell you that wedding planning is not all sunshine and rainbows, and that is OKAY!

This Wednesday , I want to share with you the untold facts of The Wedding and Planning Process

✨It will feel natural - people tell you all the time how surreal the wedding is and how crazy is is to refer to your partner as “ husband “ or “ wife “ for the first time. Despite all the pampering and running around that comes on your wedding day, it will all feel real.

✨You might not cry , and that’s okay. It does not make your day any less real or any less special.

✨Your wedding will not go as perfectly as planned. I can not stress this enough, BE PREPARED FOR HICCUPS it is okay if things aren’t perfect because I can assure you, at the end of the day , your day will be amazing no matter what! Don’t stress it, they will not make or break the day!

✨Your walk down the aisle will not feeling long enough. Take your time. Enjoy every second

✨ You Can’t remember everything, so let your guest take pictures( so long as they don’t get in the way of the photographer )

✨ Make sure you eat( this advice was given to me by my future sister in law and I was so thankful for it) It’s a long chaotic day- so if you don’t have a wedding planner make sure you have someone who can either bring you food or make sure you eat !

✨ Take advice from others who have been married , but always remember 1. Trust your gut and 2. Trust the experts. Seriously , that’s why we do it.

✨ Breathe, relax , and enjoy the process because it will be over before you know it.

✨ Consult with a wedding planner ( even if you’re not hiring one)they can help you with details,vendors, and unknowns
