One of our goals this year is to get better pictures of our decor lol Did you know that sometimes the venues only allow us 3 hours on the day of the event to decorate regardless of the size of the event and regardless of how much draping and decorating we have to do? Yes. We get it done but did you know that it can take at least 30 hours of labour just on site to setup depending on the decor we need to setup? Yup lol 30 hours of labour in 3 hours 🤪 We love that sometimes our clients are enthusiastic about doing some if the decor themselves but here are a few things we recommend that they consider; - Have the venue provide in writing the time and date you can start your setup and take down - If you plan on setting up the day of and are relying on friends and family to help consider the fact that they too would like to have time to get glammed up for your special day -If you are setting up yourself (which we DO NOT recommend) make a list of all the other things you need to get done that day like hair, makeup, etc. -Keep in mind that special events are emotional so give yourself time to cry for no reason because sometimes seeing your friends and family helping you setup brings so much joy and appreciation to your hear that you just can’t help it. Those are just a few things to consider. Your venue will do everything possible to accommodate you. However, keep in mind that unless the date and times of your event is in your contract they can and will rent out the space for profit. But hey, when you’ve got a team of pros and vendors who roll with the punches (and hustle like nobody’s business), you make it work. Sure, we’re in the business of creating unforgettable events and, yes, turning a profit is part of the game. But here’s the real deal – we’re also here because we’re downright passionate about what we do. We live for those moments when we see smiles light up faces, hearts skip a beat, and memories being made. We always suggest our clients have an event planner to keep things on track, however, as decorators with over 18 years of experience we know how to deal with the unexpected. So, when we suggested to this awesome couple that we bring in extra staff for the flip, they took our advice and boy, did it pay off! The room was transformed in a flash, and the rest? January is meet your wedding and event vendor month. Or that’s what I’m calling it 🙈 Hi 👋 I’m Nicky. Owner, decorator, planner and that person you usually see up on a ladder at your event setup lol That’s how I get my cardio in lol Over the years I have had the opportunity to work on some amazing events and it makes my heart so very happy to see my clients lives evolve from engagement party, to weddings, to having babies, etc. Thank you for your continued support 💕 Here is a little bit… or a lot 🤪 about me. I LOVE transforming spaces into magical places. Until 10 years ago I struggled with my weight my entire life. I suddenly realized and decided that if I was going to be able to physically keep up with my kids and my business I needed to make a change. Both those things take a lot of strength and stamina. So I became a bodybuilder because… why not lol I wanted to get healthy and strong but ended up doing a bodybuilding/transformation show and some photoshoots. I am HUGE combat sports fan and have competed in Tae Kwon Do and have also participated in boxing training. I had the opportunity to meet a bunch of celebrities/athletes and also did the ring walk with The Money Team/Mayweather Promotions in Latvia. I got to party and learn from Lennox Lewis, Karl Wolf and so many others. I LOVE my London ON clients and vendors just as much. My best work comes from my clients giving me free creative range.
