TLC ( TaraLee Catering ) came about simple because I am in love with feeding people. Initially I went to school and got my EA diploma. I love children, however it wasn't making me feel “whole”….. I needed something more. I had always wanted to be a police officer and pursued that, taking police sciences….however again it wasn't meant to be. I couldn't get away from cooking. I LOVE to feed people,
even the act of preparing it. I put my heart and thought into each dish I prepare…even if it is just spaghetti and meat balls…..The whole act of preparing, sitting and partaking excites me. Food is alive, always changing, I NEVER want to stop learning about it, I never want to stop making a new dish tweaking an old recipe , or feeding people. I want to keep waking up every day thinking….”what am I going to cook for dinner?"
Working in a restaurant is neat, but working a line is so impersonal. Your responsible for part of a dish, not the dish as a whole. Working on a line doesn't allow you to see people enjoying your food, in fact you rarely even know who you are cooking for and weather they enjoyed it or not. Cooking for people is connecting for a love of rich flavors and textures all made from the heart.
