Want your wedding reception to feel like the ultimate party?

Here are 5 things you can do to make sure your guests get (and stay) on the dance floor.

#1 Bar 🍷🥃 Don’t make your guests go far to grab a drink. Having the bar in the same area as the dance floor makes it easy for them to get right back to dancing.

#2 Have a strong start ✨🔥 We call this the “spark” for example, get your photographer to take a group picture on the dance floor, this gets everyone together and when the DJ starts up chances are they’ll stay there!

#3 No interruptions ✋🏼🚫 Once the dancing starts, don’t do anything that forces people to stop dancing! Include all those events beforehand

#4 Positioning of the DJ 🎧🎵 Where you have the DJ placed is important! Have the DJ as close to the dancefloor as possible (and away from the grandparents)

#5 GET ON THE DANCE FLOOR 💃🕺🪩 We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. If you are dancing, your guests will dance!

Planning a wedding?? Let’s talk about wedding vendor green flags! These are things you should be looking for when searching for your vendor team!

🟢 Clear Pricing- Budget plays a huge role in planning your day. A good vendor will be clear about their pricing and deliverables. There shouldn’t be any surprises! This also helps you know what vendors are in and out of your budget before you get too far in!

🟢 5 star reviews- Do your research! Don’t just look at the rating but actually read through the reviews. What were other couples experience with this vendor? What did they do well? What’s different about them?

🟢 Good Communication- Not only should they be responsive but communication should be open and fun (but professional). You should feel comfortable in all your interactions with them, after all you don’t want to feel awkward or tense on your wedding day.

🟢 Well Organized- Wedding season is chaotic for even the most seasoned of vendors (*cough* us *cough*) When a vendor is well organized you know nothing will slip through the cracks

🟢 Making YOU the priority- We’ve done over 5000 weddings but want to know what? It’s never “just another wedding”. Each one is unique, special and memorable. Make sure your vendor makes you feel that way (because you are!)

🟢 Reputation- Ask around! How are they perceived in the industry? You want someone who is well respected and well liked amongst other vendors!

When shopping around for wedding vendors be sure to keep these things in mind!

🚩 Lack Of Communication: Of course there is some grace to be given (especially during peak wedding season) but you shouldn’t be waiting weeks for a reply! The right vendor will be responsive and respectful of your time.

🚩 No Contract/Overly Complicated Contract: Always, always, always have a contract. NEVER move forward without one. On the flip side the contract should be fairly straightforward. However, if you are confused about something, be open to having the vendor explain it!

🚩 Detailed Negative Reviews: Listen, negative reviews happen. But if you are seeing plenty of detailed accounts of not great experiences, it may be a sign to walk away.

🚩 Don’t Get Along with Other Vendors: Don’t be afraid to ask other vendors their opinions! They are going to have the inside scoop on how they are viewed within the industry and the reputation they have!
