The interior is thoughtfully composed in dialogue with historical heritage. Materials, forms, and artworks create a quiet rhythm where past and present meet with subtle continuity.

The art speaks of transformation and impermanence. Jean Pelle’s Desert Land lamp evokes a painted desert, layered with references to East Asia and California.

(img.3) Julia Santa Olalla’s expressive canvas, with its pink sky, distant sea, and soft greenery, explores memory, identity, and our connection to place.

(img.5) Amanda Marchand’s ink-on-film photographs continue this thread, reflecting on distance and the desire for closeness.

(img.7) Shift, inspired by the interior of an ice cave, captures a moment of becoming.

These works sit effortlessly within the space. The Ocean rug, echoing the movement of receding waves, grounds the room. The Terzo coffee table and Ibiza floor lamp by Bruno Moinard Editions add sculptural presence and warmth.

Together, the interior and artworks invite quiet reflection and a deeper sense of connection.

I’m creating a unique project that brings my concept of spatial transformation through art to life. A narrative expressed through painting, craft, and design is woven into a unified interior that reflects the client’s personality and their deep connection to the ocean and the natural world.

One of the most striking elements is Life — a sculptural light installation inspired by the iridescence of oil on water. It explores the tension between beauty and destruction, reflecting on environmental catastrophe while emanating a quiet resilience. At its core, a glowing sphere symbolizes hope and renewal. Life invites reflection on our place within nature and how design can foster awareness and transformation.

In the dining area, Sarah Brayer’s washi paper waterfalls evoke calm and impermanence. In the kitchen, Bao Vuong’s “The Crossing” adds depth — a quiet meditation on memory, journey, and rebirth through the recurring motif of water.

Taking time to reconnect with ourselves—our bodies and our minds—is essential. On the terrace of a home in Cap Martin, a natural grotto has been embraced as a quiet retreat for rest and meditation. This peaceful space is filled with intention, designed to help us slow down and regain energy.

It’s important to choose art that speaks to the space around it, just as the space should support and reveal the depth of the artwork. I love working with artists whose work carries a sense of presence and spirituality. In this project, I’ve chosen piece “ Abhasa I, 2008” by Sohan Qadri, an Indian artist, poet and Ta***ic yogi. His practice was a form of meditation. He sculpted and dyed paper with quiet precision, creating artworks that radiate peace and energy.

We’re almost ready to share the full project with you. Stay tuned — coming soon.

This project invites us to open the summer season with light, warmth, and a touch of sea breeze. This holiday home in Devon was designed as a peaceful retreat where nature and art meet.

A porcelain sculpture by Valéria Nascimento rests on a side table — delicate and organic, it sets the tone for the home’s meditative atmosphere. In the living room, a glass bowl by Wayne Charmer captures the fluidity of water in sculptural form. In the dining area, a Glasskibe vessel — a collaboration between Backhaus & Brown and Egeværk — takes centre stage. Blown glass hulls, hand-carved oak keels, and the spirit of Viking craftsmanship come together in a poetic tribute to the sea. It sits alongside a layered glass sculpture by Samantha Donaldson. Both pieces quietly reference the ocean and geological forms, adding depth and movement to the space. Art is woven into every room with intention.

This home in Amsterdam was originally built in the 20th century as an artist’s studio — a historic Dutch building with quiet strength and character. Its previous owner, Gerard Schäperkötter, was not only an artist, but the soul of the space.

To honour that legacy, we carefully acquired several of Schäperkötter’s works and allowed them to guide the creative direction — serving as both the emotional and structural foundation of the home.

Schäperkötter began his career as a graphic designer before fully committing to painting in 1914. Influenced by the Cobra movement and the École de Paris, his lyrical abstractions are rich with memory, imagination, and vivid colour. His spirit remains deeply woven into the atmosphere of the space.

In contemporary interiors, the language of structure becomes a canvas for emotion. Metal, wood, stone, concrete — each material speaks with honesty, but none overpower. Brutalist metal details set against concrete walls and softened by wood create a sense of comfort. Shadow and silence are part of the design.

Here, Brutalism isn’t about softening, but about balance — a way of designing that feels grounded, intentional, and quietly powerful.

When organic forms weave into architectural environments, even the coldest and most structured elements begin to breathe. These subtle integrations bring built forms into quiet harmony with the natural world.

If your kitchen is part of an open-plan layout, combined with the dining and living areas, the invisible kitchen concept is used to achieve visual clarity and a clean, minimalist space.

Pocket doors are one option, allowing work zones to be concealed when not in use (see image 1,2). Just remember to account for extra depth. Another is using finishes that match the room’s palette, turning the kitchen into a quiet architectural feature (see image 4,5,6,7,8)

With light-toned walls, opt for textured cabinet fronts — like subtle-grain concrete or brushed metal — to add depth.

An invisible kitchen is all about intention, and smart design.

The kitchen island is more than just a practical element — it’s a key opportunity for expression. For me, it’s one of the defining features of a kitchen, and I always aim to create bold, sculptural forms that are both functional and unique.

When designing a kitchen island, material choice of countertop is crucial. I always advise against soft stones like marble — as beautiful as they are, they tend to absorb everything.

Instead, consider granite or cristallo, which are among the most durable surfaces. Metal finishes, like stainless steel, can also offer a sleek, contemporary look.

One of my personal favourites is lava stone — an exceptionally strong and wear-resistant material, available in a wide range of colours and finishes (see image 3).

The island should feel sculpted - a natural extension of the space. In every project, I treat the kitchen island as an art object. Because when done right, it becomes the soul of the kitchen.

Working with properties listed as historical heritage requires care, respect, and sensitivity to context. For me, it’s not only about preserving what’s already there, but also about gently bringing new meaning into the space — making it relevant for today without losing its soul.
