Keeping with the colourful wedding content... Last February, we had the joy of working with Kathy to bring her minimal micro wedding vision to life.

Dropping some colour on this blue Monday. For me, it was the blue vases and ribbons and delphinium that really made this wedding.
It's a cold and frosty one today, but at least it's sunny? The way time is flying by, it will be spring in no time! And I swear to all things I will spend every moment that I can outside in the warm.

There is NOTHING more sensual and luxurious than a perfect rose. And I'm not talking about the over plucked sad roses you see in grocery stores and fast fashion floral shops... There are so many incredible varieties out there that are just waiting to charm you with their soft petals and intoxicating aromas...

10 years + in the making. This is a love story. If you're new here, let me tell you a story. In 2014, and I opened Red Door Tattoo. In 2017, I opened Grow & Bloom Co. We operated side by side on Richmond for many years. Later, Zach re-located to OEV and opened . I followed in 2021 and opened my second location in the adjacent building. I later closed my Richmond shop and merged into the OEV location. September 2024, we put them both together in my 898 Dundas space. What we have created is a hub for everything we love and everything we have worked for all of these years. We have learned to be fluid and innovative and shift with changing business landscapes. One thing that will never change is our love for our craft. Each passing year brings more experience and finely tuned skills.. Our new merger is a beautiful testament to the will of small business owners who refuse to stop. We press on. Things look different, and offerings have changed slightly on my end as we lean more into florals and minimize the plant shop side, but none of it ever went away. The world can throw what it wants at us. We're never going away. What we have created now is a super chill space to get a flower tattoo or buy a flower. You won't find anything like it in the city, province or country. Through these endeavors, we raised a beautiful little human and solidified our relationship and bond, and we continue to keep pushing the limits of our work. If you haven't been in since we put the two together, come see us. If anything, it will inspire you to think outside the box but still colour inside the lines. 🌿

Oh, hi! We're closed today but return on Tuesday with a freshly cleaned and re-stocked cooler. I've been working endlessly on our website to add some new and informative content and maintain the blog consistency, and come up with some new floral designs that are coming soon. If you've sent a wedding or preservation inquiry as of late, I'm clearing out the inbox, and you'll hear from us shortly! Plus, I'm back at school this semester teaching hort things, so prepare for all the plant content as well! We're excited for another year of growing and blooming!

We have some very special tasty treats coming to the shop this week made by one very talented baker, Bake Shop Studio (Kate!). The most beautifully crafted nutcracker cookies. In the middle of all the usual holiday chaos, my brain felt it was necessary to bring to life something I've been thinking about for a while. I obviously like woody things, especially the woods 🤣... and I like smoked things (especially cocktails) and the smell of a cedar sauna... I also like to create experiences. I also worked for a very well-known essential oil company for a bit before I opened this business.. So, how do all of these things come together? In a bath tub. Stay with me...
Close your eyes and imagine yourself deep in the woods with the snow falling lightly and a cracking fire burning nearby. Imagine the fresh scent of cedar, pine, juiper and a touch of eucalyptus dancing in the frosty air. This is what you will smell when you open each elixir.
I created a blend of the finest salts, an invigorating blend of woody and camphorous essential oils, and then I smoked it with foraged eastern red cedar. What you have here is an incredibly refreshing bath experience. Perfect for those who wish to escape to the woods.
Take one and call me in the morning. 🌲
I haven't landed on the label yet which I'm working on right now thanks to the power of AI but these little delightful potions will be available in the shop this weekend until Christmas should you feel called to imerse yourself in the power of nature.

Founded in the spring of 2017, Grow & Bloom Co. evolved from the love of horticuture and floristry. It’s purpose is to inspire and help re-connect people to nature, while creating not only a retail space to house all things botanical but also to create a work space for like minded individuals to explore and build on their creative talents. We also strive to serve as a support hub for local trades people and artisans to showcase and sell their wares.

At Grow & Bloom Co, we specialize in indoor plants and maintain a large curated selection which often changes weekly. The hunt for new and unusual varieties never stops! When we aren’t searching for new stock, we are upstairs in the studio designing florals for special events or teaching workshops, interiorscaping and floral design. We also offer citywide delivery, in-store potting services, horticultural consulting, special event and other plant related advice.
